So me and a couple of friends have decided to wake up early, hop in car and drive four hours to ski in 80-some degree weather. Call me crazy but I'm still pumped. I've never been to Liberty or skied snowflex at all for that matter and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what to expect as far as crowds and features as well as how snowflex feels to ski on.

ive been there a couple times about a month ago (my bro goes to college downthere) and its sick just wear a hoodie and park gloves and ur ski pants it hurts if you fall and go at night the snowfelx is rly slow when its hot and can just clear the bbigger jump its way faster at night and cooler to so you arent sweating like crazy like i was. its sick have fun

for a damn good reason too. place is so goddamn hot. Virginia in general. last summer i rode there when it was 104.

im potentially driving 12 hours with a friend monday to do the same! sleepin at a campground monday night, ski all day tuesday, campground again for the night, ski a bit wednesday AM and peace home

my friends gotta figure out if hes got the money but it could be a siiick trip!

its been said already their hours are only from 6 to midnight. no AM skiing. i live an hour from there and went for the fourth time a week or too ago. the other three times were in the fall. during the day it's hot as hell and like someone said it's slower. night time is definitely the time to go and because of the hours it's the only time to go. the reason it's only open late is not because of the heat but because it's staffed by students who leave in the spring meaning there is much less staff.
the snowflex is quite painful when it rubs on bare skin. you get a very bad rug burn very easily. they require long pants and sleeves and a helmet. i really recommend spring gloves that are very thin, a long sleeve t shirt, and ski pants with vents(the sprinklers get you wet). when you fall, if your skin is covered you're pretty much good when you fall. there is a bunch of foam padding under the snowflex so the impact pain is greatly reduced. you can't really carve on it at all so more sliding turns but it's all good because you just straightline the jumps anyway so no real carving is necessary. the rails are slightly sketchy in my opinion. they rails themselves are fine but the jumps on aren't quite right for some reason. it really helps with progression once you get the landing figured out. i learned 7's and 9's while i was there the other day.
