Consider any money in the form of chips non existent until you cash it out.
Set a limited amount of money you can lose, and stop if you get there. If you double your money, cash out the original buy in and gamble the rest of the night for free.
If you lost 3 or 4 hands in a row in blackjack, walk away from the table, regardless of whether that table has been hot for you.
Play a lot of dealer mojo. You have somewhere around a 49.5% of winning any blackjack hand if you make all moves perfectly, so any luck or mojo you can get going is awesome, you need all the help you can get.
If you aren't sure what to do ask the dealer, but if he gives you a move and you win that hand, tip him a little. Tip the dealers a little if you are on a hot streak from them. Take care of them and they will take care of you.
DOUBLE DOWN ON THOSE 11's. In blackjack you often make most of your money from double downs and splits, so play them wisely.
Remember anything with the word "progressive" in it, like Spanish 21, or 3 card poker, is just the casino basically saying "Hey guys check out this new way for us to make more money off you." Way I see it, a casino wouldn't introduce a new game unless it made their odds better.
Probably stay out of the poker room, you can lose $200 in there awfully fast. I would play $20 hands of blackjack with that amount personally, although you might want to start with $10 hands until you get in your swing and some confidence. $5 tables are sort of pointless, and always overcrowded and full of idiots who take all the card you need.
Always bet on black.
