Please read title.

I am going to Niagara Falls on Friday night with some buddies and we plan to hit Fallsview Casino hard. Any advice? tips? games to avoid?

I'm probably going to bring about $150-200 for gambling, and I'm definitely leaving my parents credit card at home.

It will be my first time at the casino so chances are I will get pretty wild.

Ive only been once but i played roulette. You can bet on things like black/red, odd/even, 1-20/21-40/41-60. I won $75 on my first two games but then left down $100 ;(

Woah you're definitely going to get pretty wild with 200 dollars!! But seriously bring like 500$ and niagara falls is sick.

First time I went I played i think Craps and some really REALLY low end Blackjack. Left $50 richer. Really, just be careful I guess with how much you bet and stuff. I remember hearing that you should avoid poker, blackjack (I just like Blackjack plus I went to a table that the max bet was like, $5), and roulette. Craps is supposedly the "fairest" game in a casino.

craps and blackjack have the best odds of breaking even, there is less than a 1% house advantage in both if you know how to play.

Yeah, I always heard if you want to lose your money you play roulette. If you want to break even or just a little above it is Blackjack and Craps.

consider any money you bring there a donation.

around here its a donation to the native reserve.

fuck i haate casinos and i hate losing money.

If you cant count cards for hours at a time while you play blackjack for the same wager every time, your going to lose money.

they use so many decks and counting cards only gives a minor advantage against the house that its really not even worth it anymore.

I wouldn't say that. I think if you show up there with about 1k, and you know how to play and are willing to stick it out, you can make some big time money.

for your best odds go to a craps table

stay away from slots!!!

i really cant stress that enough

my favorite game is blackjack

the dealers are helpful and its a good game to sit down and play with a few buddies

I will be avoiding the slots and video poker machines like the plague.

I definitely want to play craps, roulette, blackjack, and maybe poker (my 1 friend is a big poker player so we may sit in one of his games).

When do the free drinks come? lol

I went to the casino and I only knew really how to play blackjack, and not that good. I went with $40 my first time, lost $10 on roulette. Played with $30 on a $5 blackjack table. I left with 135. Over the course of the next 3 months I went to the casino and won $100-325 every time I went. Literally.....I was up like $1400, but had lost maybe $200 or so ish...so really up $1200 after all the trips.

Then.....the luck turned. Over this period of playing blackjack...I learned how to play every hand. There was no question what to do with the hand. I learn how to play basic strategy etc. As I learned how to play blackjack more....the less I won it seemed. Truly I would maybe win $30 playing basic strategy, and be like fucking thats not enough winning. So I would play more, up the bets, and next thing ya know I am down $100.

It is addictive as shit, casinos give out comps....and you can sit and play blackjack with $200 for an entire afternoon if you sit and bet defensively.

I think my down fall was aggressively betting with hopes to win big quick. Instead of sit for 3-4 hours to win $200-300 I would try and win $200 in 1-2 hours.

LEARN WHEN TO WALK AWAY. I could have left winning every time if I would have just walked away being happen breaking even...or up $20-50. But it just wasn't enough.

/blog meaningless gambling story

Oh yeah. I lost almost all $1200 of it back to the casino....trying to continue my winning streak. Thinking it was totally possible. I only walked away with maybe $300 in the end, and that was only because I said fuck it....fucking shit sucks.

have a set amount where if your up that much. just call it for the night. its easy to get sucked in and then end up losing it all

the way i play is apparently called 'chipmunking'

i start with 20 bucks, if i lose that fine, but if i make 10 i'll pocket it and continue with my original 20, once its goes in the pocket it stays in the pocket

if that makes sense

take 50$, play roulette, play outsides, like 1of3 and 2of3 then u have 2 3rds of the table covered and are almost garenteed a slowly increase.

If you are new to gambling, my advice would be to take more like $50-$75, and have fun learning how to play the various games. Don't expect to walk away a winner.. If you do, then congrats, but no matter how you look at any game, the odds are always with the house.

So my advice, JUST HAVE FUN.

haha I gambled for the 1st time last saturday night, went tin with forty came out with $57. I won my 1st slot machine pull at $5, then I hit blackjack the first and only time. Just whatever u do, don't do what my friend did, he lost a lot on slots, and then just haphazardly risked $100 on a $100 minimum blackjack game, lost, and lost about $150 that night, either quit while you're ahead, or set a limit, and don't break it.

I'd say bring no more than 200. and another 100 for alsohol, and another 100 to hit up a strip club after..

CRAPS CRAPS CRAPS

Seriously its fun and it has pretty much the best odds. I assume you do not know how to play, no biggie in any casino. Just walk up to the table and ask how to play, they are usually nice about it. I have always one more than >100 every time ive played just making $5 bets (even when im winning im still a pussy).

PLAY KENO

no joke, card games are too intimidating for first timers, and take your money FAST.

On a good day I can last about 3 hours with $10 on keno. Just throw in $100 into the keno machine, max bet and have a blast.

I have turned $3 into hundreds of dollars with keno.

War has the best odds : dealer flips a card for you and for him. Highest card wins. Simple. My best advice though, would be that if you end up winning a good amount, stop right away, because you will inevitably end up losing it. It sucks to just stop like that, but it's the best way to play

DONT PLAY SLOTS, and black jack is allways a good game to play as long as you pay attention and dont do anything retarded or risky on a whim, you can learn all the basic stratigies and get good fast. and you wont lose to much money if you do badly

play poker if they have tables.i look at it like this..its easier to beat other people then the casino

ok, so i have not read any of the other responses, but i guarantee nobody has said this yet, and im positive this is the best tip in this entire thread. the whole point of the casino is entertainment right? dont go in there thinking you will actually make money, its not gonna happen.
sit at the slots. take out money and start playing, leisurely. when cocktail waitress comes around to get you whatever you are drinking for the evening, tip her twenty dollars and flirt with her. if you do it right, and continue to tip decent after that, you will have those 6 oz cups STACKED up on your machine. play the slots chill all night, enjoy blowing 200 dollars. if you win, take your money out, but if you lose, you had fun and got drunk right? cause you prolly would have blown a stack if you went to the bar anyways.
i know im wise.

untrue. In some casino games, the odds can get up to something like 48,3 %, so its pretty good (for a casino of course). The people who play casino poker usually do that to get lots of money and are retarded good. The proportion of plain casual players is extremely low. So don't get fooled into thinking you have an even chance with them: youll get eaten alive.

This is why the $5 max bet Blackjack table and Craps are the best games. Craps is the BEST but if you want to play cards the cheap Blackjack table is where you go.

well i dont know anything about the casino youre going to but the one i go to you can get a players card for free and you get a hell of a lot of rewards and stuff so i would suggest looking into that.

also go with a group of friends and if youre looking to play cards i suggest watching a dealer for a little bit before sitting down. find a nice and friendly dealer. a dealer can make all the difference in your experience. if you have one that wants the players to win and will "help you" they are not allowed to coach but some will help you they are awesome especially for a first timer. and you should mention you are a first timer.

slots can be fun if you kinda wanna wind down and just play a little no pressure game. of course like penny slots and stuff if you don't want to blow too much money.

Consider any money in the form of chips non existent until you cash it out.

Set a limited amount of money you can lose, and stop if you get there. If you double your money, cash out the original buy in and gamble the rest of the night for free.

If you lost 3 or 4 hands in a row in blackjack, walk away from the table, regardless of whether that table has been hot for you.

Play a lot of dealer mojo. You have somewhere around a 49.5% of winning any blackjack hand if you make all moves perfectly, so any luck or mojo you can get going is awesome, you need all the help you can get.

If you aren't sure what to do ask the dealer, but if he gives you a move and you win that hand, tip him a little. Tip the dealers a little if you are on a hot streak from them. Take care of them and they will take care of you.

DOUBLE DOWN ON THOSE 11's. In blackjack you often make most of your money from double downs and splits, so play them wisely.

Remember anything with the word "progressive" in it, like Spanish 21, or 3 card poker, is just the casino basically saying "Hey guys check out this new way for us to make more money off you." Way I see it, a casino wouldn't introduce a new game unless it made their odds better.

Probably stay out of the poker room, you can lose $200 in there awfully fast. I would play $20 hands of blackjack with that amount personally, although you might want to start with $10 hands until you get in your swing and some confidence. $5 tables are sort of pointless, and always overcrowded and full of idiots who take all the card you need.

Always bet on black.

ah nutsack. the montreal casino is close to my school so i was thinking of making a couple extra bucks on my breaks.... oh well
