Hey guys im heading out to Oregon this up coming week and i'm going to be hitting up Mount Hood for a few days. So i'll probably be looking for some people to shred with while im out there. I'll be up there Tuesday-Thursday hopefully.

maybe going sometime in august. the one thing that im bummed about is how short the lifts are open. do they care if you hike rails afterwards? answer=k+

i know they probably dont want it getting skied about but just curius.

thanks

i was hiking the public park with some buddies a few weeks ago way after closing (7-8pm or so) and a cat driver drove right by, gave a wave and kept going...

I was there on Saturday.

They ran Magic Mile until 1:30pm, and Palmer until 2:00pm. After that, the park was open for hiking until 3:00pm. Public park has about a 200 yard walk to the bottom of MM right now.

Don't be dumb like I did and hurt yourself the first day of a week trip.

yeah but its not really lapable. I was annoyed hiking to the parking lot today, the lower areas are pretty bare.

really? I was thinking about coming down thursday. How far is the hike up to the public park?? real deep?

its alot easier if you ride to the end of the snowpatch, then go right and ride that little patch, and then follow the path from there. mucho faster.

and damn david. sorry to hear you got hurt.

its far but i mean, for a normal hiker it would be fine. in ski boots itd suck but in shoes on the hiking path wouldnt be bad but then hiking the park all day would be rough after a day or two.

fuck so pretty much you have to hike hella far uncomfortably in boots on dirt and rocks or in regular kicks on the path? and is it more then like a 10 min walk from the parking lot to the lift?

public park is fucking money right now. jumps are prime and rails are pretty much all you could ask for. park crew is slaying, except for andy farrell. hike to the lift isn't that bad. hit the jump line then hike a rail three or four times and then walk to the lift, then hike rails till 3.

thats what i heard. thanks for the info dog +k i dont even mind hiking a single flatbar for hours anyways but i wanna learn stuff in the air too so im gonna hit jumps for a while and then just hike. anyone else goin down to hood late august?

On Saturday the hike to out of the public park was not bad at all. Maybe 200 yards. Im sure its melted a lot since then but 200 yards is nothing to be lapping park in late July.
