i need new boots badly. i’m looking at a lot of the full tilt options right now and of course before i buy i need to go find what fits me the best and what size i really am. how easy is it to find shops with boots still around this time of year? i’m near killington so i have a lot of shops i can go to, i usually shop at forerunner but i don’t care where i need to go just to get fitted. any suggestions or help please.

This is the best time for deals, but the absolute worst time for selection.

Do you really need boots right now or can you wait until September/October when shops get all of their stock?

Don't worry about if a boot is GripWalk or not. If it's a normal alpine boot (read: not a touring boot) you can take off the GripWalk soles and put on alpine norm soles.

i want to get boots now so i can break them in on the summer setup and give my other boots to a friend so he can use them on the summer setup. he has to give his rental boots back soon.

I’ve had good experiences with my full tilts. Disclaimer: if you wear your boots super small and super tight you might wanna choose something better, because their cables snap so easy.

If your feet are super super wide get the descendant/ B&E shell. Otherwise stick with the classic shell. My feet are normal and I tried the (wider) descendant shell, didn’t go well. They wouldn’t hold my feet in place and hurt. Also a good idea to go a size down from your recommended size. The liners pack out easy and your boots will “go up” by a size over time.

For reference I’m a size 10.5 shoe and size as a 27.5, but I wear a 25.5. They were so tight at first but they’re packed out good now and they fit real nice. Smaller boots are better because when you’re doing butters, rails, just about anything… you want your foot (and heel especually) locked in that boot.

Alpine haus in Hartford is fucking fantastic at fitting boots. Ide give em a call and see what they have. Bit of a drive from killy

Me and my dad went to one shop in killi to trade brand new in plastic skis for the same size but just smaller for my dad. Service was 10/10 and gave us a discount on mounting them and bindings because they were looking for that size. Had the skis ready that evening picked them up and he skied them the next 3 days

if you already went to a boot fitter and you know what boot to get you can check if D-Structure has them, its where i got my descendant boots from for $300. They have other boots like the fulltilt drop kick pro if your feet arent wide
