Going to Dunedin

Hey, I'm going to University of Otago for a semester this July. On exchange from University of Toronto in Canada.

So what's the skiing like? I'd like to ski some terrain park, and I'd like to get some big mountain backcountry skiing in. Is there anything good near Dunedin? Can I bus it / hitchhike it?

 
Dunedin is about 3hours drive from the best hills in NZ. You can hitch but is a bit dodge with skis. Buses go from dunedin to queenstown and wanaka pretty often and cost about $50 nzdollars. Check out nzski.co.nz, cardrona.co.nz, treblecone.co.nz and snowparknz.com.

 
Or you could jump in the back of my car with me and the boys every single weekend out to the best hills in the country, woooooo, we each just chuck in like 20 bucka for gas and it's all good!

That sounds awesome man thanks. I'm pretty easy I'll go skiing wherever/whenever. Especially if the hills are good, and it sounds like they are so I'm pretty pumped.

 
I am also going to Otago for a year and desperately hoping to meet some skiers and get to the mountains a lot. If anyone has seats in their car, I would love to pitch in for gas and hitch a ride! Please let me know, I beg you!
