Going skiing while living in NYC

Has anyone gotten to ski alot while living in NYC? I got 61 days last year because of remote college but I will be working in NYC this summer and expecting to live there following graduation. I don't think I will be able to have my car in the city because its not practical. Worst comes to worst I could be lapping the Big Snow park in the mall. I also typically ski at mount snow and go out west one time a year.

You might as well fly wherever you ski it sounds like.

Day trips are overrated anyways especially if you live 2+ hours out just get 3+ days at a time when you want to get out.

I lived in Stamford CT for a few years (50 min train ride to Grand Central). When I lived there i hardly got up to ski. It was hard to drive 4 hours to hit VT for a day trip.

I found myself instead just going to CO and Utah for 10 days and skiing out there.

I used to live on Long Island, which is even worse. You can get a mountain creek season pass on the low and be there in like an hour. Their parks are decent, everything else sucks

They do bus rides to hunter and windham a lot. Also VT and other places. That might be worth looking into. Obviously NYC isn't known for being a short drive to the mtn but it's doable.

Just moved here, if you looking for some homies to split a rental car some weekends let me know. Got some buddies living in Vermont so free floor to sleep on just gotta get there

I’m definitely down when I move there but I’m not gonna be living there for about a year and a half. Where do you live in the city? Was thinking about subletting a place in LES. I work in Columbus circle.

I'm living on the UES right now. I have a year lease so I might be moving next fall. LES is a pretty cool area being by Columbus circle would be pretty cool there are a lot of bars in that area that are really fun

Their bike park is definitely better than their skiing.

Why is your timeline of a year and a half so far out?

i mean do you have a job lined up that's going to pay your $3,000 a month rent? Just asking because I did this for a short stint.

Living in the city is fun for a bit but at some point you're going to realize why NYC has so many suburbs. City life after the age of 30 is no bueno. ... just my opinion.

Just work from home in VT with me and we can shred every weekend.

Yeah I just landed a finance internship and getting paid 40ish/ hour. Looking to live with 2-3 roommates in LES, East Village or Hells Kitchen. Gonna spend 1500-2000 on rent. Wanna live in the city for 2 years while i do my analyst stint then try to get out to utah or colorado. I would love to be able to work from home tho.
