Going for the a triple backflip this season!

Pretty much wrecked myself the first few attempts I had in the backcountry last season. Got it, but took like 8 tries. This year I'm hoping I can land one on a park jump. I've got double backflips pretty much dialed and I'm not really scared anymore when trying them. Any advice for me? My worst fear is to fuck up the last rotation, cause I've broken my collarbone, dislocated my shoulder and had a broken shoulder blade on previous double backflip attempts. I'm thinking the last jump on the bigline in Breck (where Dane Tudor did the switch triple). Any better suggetions on jumps? When I've done a double on that jump I've pretty much been able to lay out my back on the last rotation and spot the landing comfortably, so I know I will have enough time for an extra rotation. The reason I've been wanting to do this is because I've never actually even heard of one beeing attempted in the park before. My real strategy is just to huck it and when I feel I'm exiting the last rotation, lay it out and try to spot. Thoughts?

if youre asking for tips on how to do a triple then you shouldnt be doing one, just figure it out for yourself

K for sure Breck is a solid choice. If you are traveling there though (sorry I don't know location) wait until you know the jump line is fucking solid. Its always the best right before the X-games for all the pros to train at. Find a foam pit, and trampoline and start to get the muscle memory flowing again. It is so important to be fully prepared and committed to fast rotation tricks on a park jump. There is almost no chance of injury if you over/under rotate, but if you hit down and you're still spinning semi-fast kiss your season goodbye. Good luck though.Mahalo

Yeah, dude if you underrotate your pretty much dead no matter what. Your shoulder will snap like a stick if you get your tips caught before you get around.

Semi-related: Here's a video of my friend (Dubsworth on NS) trying a triple.

Weekend Flips from Morgan Brandner on Vimeo.

He was fine after he underrotated. Then again, he did do it in powder haha.

Op I say keep landing triples in the BC til your 100% comfortable doing triples. Then maybe move to park.

Also for jumps, snowmass made a massive booter last season. The only person I saw hitting it was Torin and the crew from vital. Not sure if there will be a another one this season but There's always the x games triple jumps from slopestyle.

some european guy landed a triple back last year on a park jump sorry to dissapoint its been done but still do it and if your comfortable with dubs at breck send a triple on that jump you got it man

Damn Europeans xD I've actually seen that attempt a long time ago, just didn't remember it, think there is a better view of it aswell. That looks basically like the best way to fail on this trick, slightly overrotated, altough that looked pretty painful on his leg.

The first video you posted, I think that's the same guy, just another attempt. After what I read he failed on both attempts, but that takes some huge balls to attempt it twice.

Honestly, If you're 110% commited then find yourself a suitable jump and say fuck it and huck it. Remember, people thought that Creedman and his crew couldnt jump chads gap but now those people are eating their words. The thing that seperates Creedman from the rest is that his crew had a goal and they followed through. Best of luck and remember pics and vids to show them haterzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I would highly recommend hitting a BC jump multiple times and at least getting the rotation a few times before taking it to the park you do not wanna fuck yourself up for the rest of your life.

Its really easy man, Ive been watch people do tripples for a decade. Here is my insight:

1-Build a tripple aerials kicker and lanch into it at 65km/h

2-make sure yours skis are less than 160cm, you spin faster

3-landing is not important, just make sure you complete those 3 rotations

4-Make sure you brag about your hardcore injuries, the fact you ski backcountry like a motherfucker, how every pro rider is doing tripples and post it on newschoolers to pass yourself off as a badass.

Remember future spins take all!

Sounds stupid but don't take more speed thinking you'll have more time or whatever. Study precisely the speed needed. I never attempted a triple backflip nor double on snow but as you said, you nail doubles so think about you do them and all you'll have to do is throw the trick faster.Hope that helped a bit, but at the end of day, you have to go out and try it!

Good luck

I lost.

Are the jumps at breck even big enough for a triple back? They're some of the biggest park jumps around and Dane did nail that switch triple there, but it seems like with trip corks you can whip the rotation around faster and not go completely inverted if it looks like you're going to under rotate, whereas there is no way to quickly whip around that last flip if you're not going to make it.
