okay so i need new goggles. i've had good luck with anons but everyone gives me hell cuz they are a snowboard brand. they work great but i wanna try something different for next season. what have you guys had good luck with? all the kids i ski with ride oakley and von zipper and i'm not really impressed with either of em. any advice?

wear what ever you want. if you like anon, wear anon

but if you really do want to switch and drop big cash, then get some smith I/Os/phenoms or giro basis/manifest

I've always been an oakley kind of guy for everything; Cycling, Speedskating, MTB. So I just ended up getting some for skiing. I've been mighty impressed with the Smith I/O though, probably my next goggle. I've looked at the Giro goggles, including the manifest and haven't been overly impressed. They seem to be made out of pretty cheap plastic and the quality was just low overall.

Honestly, who cares what other people say? If you like Anons, get Anons. Your opinion is the only one that matters.

It's the same bullshit with people getting hated on for having wearing Sweet Protection or skiing Amplids or something. "zomg tom walish wannabe LOL!" ...Or maybe they just like the stuff. Gah, now I'm upset.

oakley crowbars are sick cause of all the different lens options and they never fog. also look into POC lobes, scott fixes, and electric eg2s.

anon is like subset of burton i wouldnt say its a snowboard-specific brand. if you like them go ahead and buy them theres no point in not buying a pair of goggles you like because they are a specific brand. A lot of kids here like cbars and i do own a pair, but to be honest i think spy makes some awesome optics and i would really recommend them

if you like anons then stick to them. if you do wanna switch it up then i would suggest spy soldiers. i have them and i love them!

If your looking for something new..then I would recommend Crowbars; sell like crack on ns, lots of lenses for diff. conditions, and if a part breaks on them your not totally fucked.

I also have some electric eg 1's I believe that I would recommend for a smaller face; works well for both under helmet w/ beanie or over helmet.

And, lastly I would recommend eg2's like someone else said for a bigger face and because: they too, sell alot on ns and are pretty dope.

As for other goggles like VZ im not really sure about. hope this helped though.

sick thanks guys. i've been riding the same gear for like 4 years now so i wanna switch it up a bit. i might have some saga from a while back for sale. blue coat and green pants both size mediums for sale this summer. i'm gunna try to make my own outerwear so if that works out we'll see lol.

Personally I only use Oakley. I've had a few brands over the years and they just work best.
However, most of the reason I feel they work best is because they feel most comfortable on my face. I say treat it like boots, go to a store with a wide selection of different frames and try all of the ones you are interested on. In my case, a couple goggles felt dramatically more comfortable, like they were made for my face. They were Crowbars and O frames, and I just got my first pair of crowbars after rocking the O frames for 4 years. For you it might be different though.
Any difference in lens quality is probably going to be negligible, as long as you buy high quality gogs they are going to keep the fog out, and that is really all that matters. So just try on tons of frames and find which you like best. If you really like the way a lens looks just remember that it is most likely possible to get that lens in a different frame.
