Goggle Question

Hey guys, doing a school project here pretty soon. I'm hoping to get some market research done on goggles, and what better place to get it.

Anyway, if you could take two seconds to list what goggles you have (brand, model, etc.) and some pros/cons about them, it would really help me out.

Hopefully if I can get a bunch of feedback, I'll keep you updated on my progress. Basically I'm trying to redesign a pair of goggles.

electric, rasta versions.

pros, looks and free lense

cons, mirror lense is too dark

oakly a frame

pros, awsome lenses good ventalation

cons, narrow vision

These goggles are pretty impressive for a medium sized head..

Visibility = 9/10 - Amazing, especially in australian conditions, often overcast - great for definition of bumps etc

Looks - 8 - I think the a-frames look sick, and not as thick as the wisdoms which i like (wisdoms are almost twice as thick as the a-frames)

They don't fog up at all, and great breathability

Compatibility with helmets, no probs - i got the a-frames to fit a giro fuse helmet, you can also get an oakley helmet strap to fit without a problem..

Overall, heaps happy with them in all respects - 8.5/10

spy scoop, pros: awsome fit, good periph vision...cons: doesn't really fit with any helmets

smith triad , pros: fits good with helmets, good lense options...cons: too big, those lame wings that come off of the frame and attach to the strap

smith fuse, pros: awesome fit with helmet, rad frame design(fleur de lis), sensor mirror lense is unreal, perfect size frames...cons: haven't found any yet

electric eg1, alien green

pros: free lens, look dope

cons: wish it came with a clear/ really light lens instead of a dark and medium lens

oakley o frame, red

pros, look nice, good vision

cons, scratch easily

scott messenger, grey

pros, light amplifying lens for night skiing

cons, currntly smashed lens

Oakley A-frames (2 pairs)

Frame:

Pros: Works well with most, if not all helmets, fits my face well (medium size) wide range of colours (matte white is sweet)

Cons: Foam lining has been known to wear out in some cases, not mine however. May not fit some face types

Black Iridium Lense:

Pros: Spherical lense, medium-wide range of visibility (especially for frame size) Great for bright-light days, decent in overcast.

Cons: Lense coating scratches easily. Poor visibility in low light, fog, or snow.

H.I Yellow Lense (formally known as H.I. Blue)

Pros: Same as above for design. Unbelievable visibility in overcast, medium light, low light, fog, snow, and even night.

Cons: Same as above for lense coating. Extremely bright in sunlight (you have to squint)

scott motives

pros, nice and fit well, nice lense for daytime

cons, bad for night skiing

scott factors

pros, good for day and night

cons, kinda ugly

Oakley E frames,

pros, clear lense, night skiing!!!, very comfortable

cons, bad for day skiig

spy soldiers have a great design, are super comfy, have a great lense but i wish that the frame was a little bigger

Oakley A frames (2 pairs)

1st pair (clear frame with fire iridium lens)

pros: look killer have sooper good clarity and are the best on blue bird days

cons:cant see worth shit once the sun is gone

2nd pair (black frame with high intensity yellow lens

pros:look koo sooper good sight and are great for all conditons were the sun is not involved

cons:these thing burn ur eyes out when the sun comes out

Anon Figments (studded)

pros: look amazing. dont fog. fit perfect. affordable alternative to oakley, which seems to dominate the market. pretty well constructed, very durable.

cons: the whole burton thing is open for dispute. i only have the gold mirrored lense, and its not really that mirrored unless its really sunny. black is boring, but thats why i may do the sticker thing (check my other goggles in profile pics) to them.

Adidas Yodia

Pro/ Range of vision is better then any oakley or anon ive worn and its lots, looks, fit good with any helemt, work awsome for biking, dont fog

Cons/ Double Lensed so the clear inner one can scratch easy but if your carefull then theres no cons to them

anyone with adidas will agree

Smith Fuse- Graphite w/ red mirror and yellow lenses

pros: Comfortable, look good, free lens, easy to change lenses

cons: foam padding peels off

Guys, first of all THANKS for your feedback so far.

Quick question... how do you feel about lense replacemnt?

I know I have a pair of Spy Scoops, and changing the lense is just a pain in the ass. Any models that you've come across that have some innovations in the way of lense changing?

scott ransom

pros:good vison in almost all conditions, helmet compatible

cons: inner lense scratches easily even when the goggle bag is used, infact a dull fingernail can scratch it so be careful! the seal between the inner and out lense does a poor job at sealing water out, if moisture gets in there it will render the goggle useless for more than 48 hours. extremely expensive, i had to buy mine for $192 at a pro shop cause i was stranded without goggles, the are maybe worth $40-$50 tops

Smith fuse, neon green, blue mirrored lens.

pros: great goggle, helmet compatible, reasonably priced, sick colors, anti fog, comfortable, vents

cons: the blue mirror is not a true mirror (you can see through it) though the red mirror is sweet.

with my adidas u just pull the nose away from the top like pull it down and up and they pop right out but its still super secure im telling u try a pair of them out ull luv em... come on some one else has to have adidas on this site
