To all the kids on here who are able to vote tomorrow in Massachusetts, cast a vote for Scott Brown!!! I voted last tuesday by absentee ballot and have been getting the word out to all of my friends. He has incredible momentum in the race right now, being points above Martha Coakley in all of the latest polls. This lead in itself is incredible in Mass, the most liberal state of the union, and no matter what happens tomorrow, the people of Mass have certainly mobilized in opposition to the liberal majority in Washington. VOTE BROWN!

do you really want people voting for the real scott brown, as displayed here in a 1980's cosmopolitan...

btw this should be in regionals, otherwise keep the political bullshit out of NSG, i dont come NSG to be serious about the internet

everyone has seen this.....don't comment on it if you think it's bullshit, it's an incredibly important election, which you would realize if you have picked up any piece of news these past few months. If you want the real Martha Coakley, just look at her trainwreck of a campaign. She is the worst candidate anyone could have put on the Dem ticket and she has completely blown it. She is an arrogant bitch who is irreconcilably out of touch with regular Massachussers. She even went as far as to suggest that there are no more terrorists in Afghanistan and that Curt Schilling is a Yankees fan...does she even know what state she happens to be the (incredibly inept) attorney general for?

also, the rape thing is that somewhere in his mass. politcal career he voted to ban all emergency contraception/birth control, even after women were raped. basically its just the other side of the political spectrum twisting things to thier favor. also, im not taking sides on this in anyway.

Justin likes this.

the 41st vote against healthcare! yes.

however in all honesty he did vote and support Romeny care in previous years. however its a whole new ballgame to have a state doing something like this vs the federal government doing this. if a state wants to have a universal healthcare system, public option, whatever, go for it, (although not really, but if they want to its their decision) but i wouldnt choose to live there.

I.E. 10th amendment? "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

or are we using the providing for the general welfare cop-out as our rationalization of national healthcare?

i will be glued to the tube tomorrow night waiting for the returns.

I will most definitely be voting for Scott Brown tomorrow. I highly encourage everyone else in MA to do so as well...

Coakley’s ad raises an amendment introduced in the state Senate by her

opponent, Scott Brown, that would have allowed hospital personnel to

refuse to give emergency contraception to rape victims based on their

religious beliefs. But it doesn’t mention that when the amendment

failed, Brown voted for the bill requiring the contraception to be

provided anyway.

His bill proposed that, on the grounds of "sincere" religious belief, doctors could refuse to give emergency contraception. They would be required to refer the patient to another doctor to receive the contraception. The amish don't pay taxes because of their beliefs, those with religious reservations against war and violence are exempt from the draft...why should this be any different.

and yes Justin!!!! I love seeing out-of-staters supporting Brown. NH citizens have been flooding MA in recent weeks to help him campaign.

Also, in Coakley's ad, she said he would deny rape victims "care," which is bullshit. He has never come out and said that he would want doctors to refuse medical care for rape victims, in fact, he never wanted to refuse contraceptives to rape victims. Politicians and their ads are usually full of hot air and bullshit, so this little twist of words isn't surprising, especially for CHOKEley, who has been running an incredibly negative campaign.

I won't be 18 until 4 months from now, but if I could vote I would vote for Brown.

It is odd, as MA is such a liberal state, yet just driving around my town and surrounding towns I see about 10x as many Brown signs as I do coakley, I am really surprised how much support he seems to have, given the way MA usually votes. Nice to know MA might be changing

you know what, the campaign on either side is so fucking ridiculous, they are both doing what the republicans used to do 10 years ago... i fucking hate both candidates

The fuck? if you are talking about negative campaigning, you are wrong. Brown has taken the high road on this one, all the mudslingling is coming from the coakley side. One of her aids assaulted a reporter who "had the balls" to ask her a tough question on a public sidewalk. She is a terrible candidate and was arrogant enough to assume that she had this one in the bag from the get-go.

meh, i got flyers from both of them shitting on one another, this campaign is a joke, i think this kind of slander should be eillegal
thanx for the opinion though

jodi fail, this special election is of special importance as it could kill what is known as a super majority in the senate. Also it is multiple trending topics on twitter. are twitter users only in new england?

this belongs in regionals

yea! in gonna vote for Scott Brown cuz you told me to.... i was going to educate myself about the elections, but not any more!!
check ur meter

Why does this belong in regionals? The implications of this rest have profound effects on the entire country. If Scott Brown wins, it creates a massive roadblock for health care. This race is huge.

On another note, Keith Olberman is freaking out / shitting bricks right now... hilarious.

i got about 15 calls to my house from both campaigns. when did politics take precedent over the rest of people's lives? its like stopping a society from functioning in order to elect the best way for it to function.

its like all a conspiracy, the man is trying to turn us against ourselves...man.

no but really this election is less relevant to MA government than it is to congress, which is bullshit from a local standpoint

SCOTTY B FTW. Seriously though, Martha Coakley is an ignorant bitch cunt. If/When brown wins this i am going to LOL at her, and the democrats, and the Obama administration for thinking they had this in the bag. And honestly, you have to be pretty shitty to lose as a democrat in this state.

now this is bullshit. right there you are forcing your religious beliefs as a doctor on your patients. if you are of a faith that is going to compromise what you are willing to do as a doctor, you should not be a doctor.

while i disagree with browns ideas IMMENSELY, good god, coakley was a moron.

lol. as john stewart pointed out last night, the supermajority is irrelevant. during the bush era, they passed whatever the fuck they wanted without a "super majority". it has to do with the fact that democrats are really good at fucking it up for themselves.

if your patients don't like it, they can go to another doctor. What's the problem. the doctors must direct them to another doctor who would be willing to give them contraception. Doesn't matter though, BROWN WON!

hypocratic oath mother fucker, they gots to help the people. but yeah, religion should not factor into a doctors ability to help patients.

dislocated collarbone = utter boredom. you may notice ive had like 150 posts in the last like 2 days

I saw more ads bashing Brown than promoting Coakley, well that shoes where that will get you.

Great for Brown, and great for Mass, there is finally hope that we are not insanely liberal.
