this is kind of a reponse to the other thread about this.

pritty much i have a dslr anyway but its my dad's, i think he would let me film with it but if i broke it or if anything happend to it at all i would have to pay for it (looking at £600 if it breaks completly), anyway i think i would be willing to put the time in to get the best possible results....the thing is, is that i am not a highly experianced filmer and and wouldnt be filming professionol level skiers but i would like to become a good filmer....

the other option is to but a gopro hd and learn some betetr filming techniques before i ask my dad to use his dslr..

what do yuo guys think???

not worth it, get a 550d or 7d or 5d mkII if you are looking to film with hdslrs.

Just get an actual video camera. As it seems like you're more interested in the video aspect, rather than the photo.

Sorry man but one generally does not learn better filming techniques with a GoPro. If you're really into it, more than point and shoot, save your money and get a better camera that you can progress on.

If your filming strictly skiing a go pro is super convenient and the quality is good if your good at color correction. If you're planning on filming other stuff get an HDSLR there is just so much more capability.

ohh really... he has only had it for a couple of days and i have only played around on the photo....problem solved
