Ok so i just received my go pro hd hero 2 but have never used the first one before. My hero came with a couple adhesive mounts and one like this...398361.jpeg

I am looking to put it on a ski pole like everyone else does. Can i use or how do i use this mount for it...or do i need the go pole and it comes with the mount?

The one your holding is a side helmet mount. It attaches to the adhesives and has a second arm piece so that it can sit right up.

don't buy a gopole. don't buy a seatpost mount. but a tripod mount for 4 dollars, and find a 1/4 inch bolt and a nut about 2 inches long. drill a hole in the pole just big enough for the bolt to fit through. thread the nut all the way to the bottom of the bolt, then put it through the hole in the pole and screw on the gopro. tighten the nut from the bottom as needed to make it not swivel. sorry if that was confusing lol.

works flawlessly

handelbar mount seriously, no need to carry weird cut off poles or buttslap-paddle thingies to the mountain ....

I just used a flat sticky mount with some duct tape on a cutoff ski pole. Doesn't shake at all if you do it well (clean the surface, don't try to mount it twice, etc).

Use the handlebar/seatpost mount and you can put it on your ski pole. If your ski pole is not fat enough roll some duct tape around it in the spot you want the camera mounted, and screw your mount on over the duct tape. That way you can use your pole when you're not filming by taking off the mount.
