Go Pro HD or ContourHD?

Contour HD 1080p. Regular contour hd sucks. Go pro freezes up in the cold. countourhd doesnt, 2 switches on the ContourHD. Good mounting and doesnt look rediculous on ur helmet.
 
gopro hd is ridiculous, buy the right card and treat it right (i have ate shit of a 40 foot cliff and have the footy to prove it) and it's not going to give you issues. contour is less waterproof and vib. resistant.
 
I've seen amazing results from the gopro hd. can't really go wrong, I think it's the leading cam out there right now
 
The GoPro esn't look rediculous on your helmet. I've seen it on others, and wear one myself. It's fine.

That saidddddd, the contour ISN'T waterproof, had lower video quality (yes, it too is 1080P, but you have to get that version, and it just isn't the same quality). I've debated this for a long time myself, and after getting the GoPro HD, it's clearly a winner.

Get the GoPro, and shed us some videos!!!!
 
i gave up with the gopro contest and after trying my friends all weekend, i really fucking want one so im just going to fork out the 300 $.
 
rather have good looking footage than a good looking camera; i too went for the gopro and it amazed me in every aspect !
 
i like the vio-pow, sure it's pretty bulky and the cable is abit of a pain in the ass but the image quality is much better than the competition.

the thing i like the best is the global shutter on the sensor. it means that you dont get the rubberband effect you get on countour for example.

watch a tree skiing video filmed with gopro or contour and the trees will look like overcooked spagetti, while they look like trees if filmed with a vio...
 
I've used my GoPro HD in -15 F and never had a problem. I was amazed it worked at those temps shooting 720p @ 60 fps.
 
funny you mention the vio in a thread not about the vio.

i feel the vio was a piece of junk. if its sunny it is just washed out. the quality isnt that impressive. i had many problems with the cord and buttons, like me accidently pressing a button with my ski pants and the thing turns off. i had issues with it recording clips that werent recognized by anything. it also costs twice as much as the go pro. so if you get the vio you could have got 2 go pros and gave one to your girlfriend or something.
 
yeah i was totally leanin for the go pro, im going to jamaica in a few weeks and i want to be able to take it underwater at some point.

and as well i want to film myself breakin virgin POW

at first i tought you said "i want to film myself breakin a virign in" as in shooting yourself getting it on with a virgin...
wich obviously is also a possibility....

 
well its a thread about helmet cams right? so i thought the vio should at least be considered. the wash out can be fixed with an other lens, which i think they are selling on their site.
i think the gopro and the contour shoots in a higher resolution but the spaghetti trees still bothers me. if you can live with it, good for you.
 
its ok dude, no biggie...
but its funny how you say trees look like spahetti; i've never seen trees that look like spaghetti on any GoPro footage :D
