I got a dell digital jukebox and i need to let out my frustration. it sucks so incredibly bad, the organization blows because the software is shit. i suggest no one EVER buy one because they are so awful. I just accidently deleted the entire library because nothing is clear and understandable. I'm returning it and buying an ipod, its the same amount of money and its 100x better by far. I'm writing this as a warning...never ever EVER buy this piece of crap.

if i had an obscene amount of money to spend on a small peuice of electronics i would probably lose of break very quickly. id take your advice :) thanks

i had an ipod before i got the dell because i thought the dell would be better because of the longer battery life. probably one of the worst decisions i have made. For adding notes and stuff like that, you need to transfer v-cards into the ipod drive. message me if you need help.

to put files on it, first got to ipod options in itunes while its connected. click enable disc use. it will now show up under where your drives are in my computer. to uploard text and contacts, the text files have to be in txt. format (like in microsoft notepad) just drag and drop into the text file. the contacts, you make them in outlook, and same them aas a VCARD file in the contacts folder.

yeah, the batteries in alot of those are like the ones for digi cams. you have to drain um before charging. the ipods you can charge whenever. i wish apple would make an MP4 player, but they arent supposed to anytime soon.

buy some urban skis, a minidisk player, and some goggles or maybe a jacket instead of an ipod.

dude, DO NOT buy an Mindisk player! those things are the biggest POS's ever. obviously you guys have never used an ipod. so dont say that. ipods are amazing.

I got a sony minidisk and its alright but I'm thinking about getting an Ipod cuz I want all my music one one unit instead of ahving a bunch of mini discs

What about the Neuros thing? Does anyone have that? It seems good, because you can play it through to anything else with a frequency. ie: a radio. It seems to be about the same size as a discman, but I've never seen them anywhere and would like to hold and see it instead of ordering it.

well, i'm going to stand against almost everything said so far......

i just got a dell DJ dirt cheap courtesy of the 'trade in a broke ipod program' where i conviently had found a broke ipod..... and i love the thing. yeah, it's not as well organised as the ipod, but it's close, and once you get used to it, it still plays music.

and about the FM transmitters...... idk about the integrated ones, but i bought an external one for the dell to hook it up to my car w/o wires, and it sounds pretty damned good. nobody that's heard it has been able to pick out the difference between a CD and the dell over wireless......

i guess it's just a matter of preference, but i like it. it works for me, and i paid a quarter of what a comparable ipod would have cost me, while still getting a brand-new, in the box player.

i have a tape that u stick in the tape slot in cars and then u connect it to the ipod and that works perfectly. u can use it on stereos also

i have a minidisc and an mp3 player... minidisc is good for just walkin around and shit cuz u can have so much more music but mp3's are good for skiing cuz they dont break as easy...

i had a sony md and loved it except for the software used. the software blew but it was useable...just annoying. they have a longer/better battery life in the cold than the ipod and are a little stronger than the ipod.

now i have an ipod and i love it. broke the first one falling on a jump. got a new one and a case for it for when i'm skiing. ipod's are INCREDIBLE

yea my minidisc is pretty solid too except mine is worth like 600$ and my mp3 is worth like 100$ so id rather ski with less expensive stronger one then my more expensive not as strong one

ive got a mz n1 and it has about 8 hours of music on one disc so far and i can still add more... i think ill be able to fit about 10 hours or so on one disc.. which is pretty sick if your think about it... and then the batteries are rechargeable and csn last 52 hours each charge so i can listen to my musci for a couple days and a bit...

i loved my ipod until yesterday...it froze and i couldnt turn it off so i let the battery run out. now the battery dies after about an hour and it constantly freezes but only for a few seconds (at most a minute), but its fucking annoying. i just bought mine 3 weeks ago. im pretty pissed off right now so i am going to make apple give me a new one...they better cooperate.

oh, anyone have any advice as to what i should do?

marlin, i don;t know if this applies to the regular ipods, but i had the same problem with my mini freezing, i read the manual thingy and what you do to restart is it hold down the Menu button and the little center circular button until it restarts, on the mini the apple logo shows up...

i find when i dont use my minidisc for a while it takes slower to read songs and shit but then if i use it for like an hour it kind of un freezes and then starts runnin fast again...

i got a rio nitrus off ebay for 100 bucks they retail for 200 with 1.5 GB of storage (about 33-350 songs) so im happy with it.. and the software is super easy to use and understand great mp3 player for the money... check them out on ebay real cheap!

yea the software for my mp3 is amazing... no hastle you just drag the music into the little box and then unplug your usb and your good to go

ya my ipod is good but it also has a mind of its own one night i was listing to it everything worked fine the next morning it reforeamte dthe hd on its own and all the songs were gon lost for ever i called apple and was like u guys suck then i went ahed and put all the songs back on

My ipod rocks, i would never trade it. Apperently windows have been trying to put out so called ipod killers, but so far, theyve totally died flat down. Its really good for mac, im an all mac user. Mac is not only getting crazy amounts of cash, but better publicity for its other products, even though their commercials are great.
