GNAR (Gaffney's Numerical Assesment of Radness) contest started today at squaw. If you havn't heard of the game check out book called Squallywood. Points for various lines around squaw rated on difficulty mixed with comedy (poll whacking, skiing nude, pissing during an intense line, etc). Contest is a week long, using helmet cams, photographers, and videographers. It's the true locals contest. Check unofficialsquaw.com for more info. Why don't more mountains do cool shit like this? Squallywood book shows lots of hidden/secret hot spots around mountian. It it a good idea to reveal secret stashes on mountain? It's kinda like the bible for lines at squaw. Any thoughts?

Word has it a lot of solid lines were skied naked today (for bonus points), and keep an eye out for Ralph Backstrom in the terrain park in women's lingerie and on fruitboots.

Most of the lines in the book are clearly visible and are no real secrets (except for WS KT, Deadman's). Really, that's all I can think of. Chapter five only points out a few lines out of the many, because he didn't want to piss people off.

after skiing a difficult line, ski up to a group of stunned onlookers and proclaim "I'm the best skier on this mountain!"

SO stoked to see what comes out of this. Really wish I were still down there to participate but there are too many good locals that I think it'd be more entertaining to watch haha

GNAR is just about the best thing ever. It is played daily, with no need for organized contest- you compete with your buddies, given a certain amount of time, and whoever can come up with the highest score wins. That being said, this large scale GNAR contest is awesome, and I'll have to enter one year when I have a week off from commitments.

"Get hummer in the Funitel" - 15000 points.

"When skiing past extreme benches, proclaim loudly to everybody how rad you are."

I believe the contest got put on hold. SOmething about Squaw not allowing it. I don't really understand what they can't allow, seems like people could just do the stuff anyway.
HOpefully someone has some more info.

I just read on TGR that too many guys were doing lines naked yesterday which made upper management at Squaw pretty mad, so they hotlisted all the guys passes that are participating in GNAR. Hopefully the contest will continue
