Gloves or Mittens?

I need a pair of warm gloves/mittens that are good for park riding. I have always been a fan of gloves, but I am wondering if I should try some mittens out. Which do you prefer, and why? Also, feel free to recommend any warm, durable gloves/mittens that are good for park skiing.
 
to be honest, if your hands are cold, warm up your core. common misconception is that if your hands or feet are cold you need to warm them up more. no, you need to warm your body up more and your extremities take care of themselves. when you put on an extra layer, it doesnt make you sweat, it'll just warm up your entire body. when you're cold, what's the first thing to feel it? your extremities, cause your body is leeching the heat to keep your core warm.

trust me, put another layer on and your hands will be fine. i wear tiny ass gloves since i love having the mobility in my fingers, but get cold easily, so i just wear an extra layer. does the trick.

I have those, I like them a lot. They're warm and lightweight. I think last years colorway is way cooler than this years.

I bought some Hestra gloves a couple years back. They're super pricey but if you take care of em and oil em up like twice a year and they'll last FOREVER. They do sell mittens too though
 
I used to wear gloves because i didn't like the feel of mittens. But i wore mittens for a day and it turns out they are way more comfortable/warm than gloves. i now have dakine mittens, the best.
 
My hands always used to be cold until I switched to mittens. If its cold I always use mittens and have a pair of park gloves for warm/spring days.
 
I always loved my toasty, dry hands in a pair of nice mittens, but even when they're too small, i hate the bulky feeling and lack of pole grip.

This year, its 3 fingers FTW!
 
my hands get so sweaty inside mittens with all my fingers touching and there being restricted breathability and all. then they get cold

 
I have a thin, super grippy pair of north face park gloves for warm spring days or long hours of hiking.

Then i have another thick, super cozy pair of Dakine mittens for long days and shit

i wear insulation-less pipe gloves 99% of the season and my hands are never cold. if they do happen to get chilly cause of wind i just pull em into the sleeves of my jacket. so nice having the added dexterity.
 
I like mitts, but if i may jack the thread a little... does anyone know any mitts with a nice grippy palm? my old grenade mits had a leather palm, and skis get slippery when wet!
 
for park I would wear park gloves because they look pretty bad ass, although I picked up a pair of park mitts for colder park days, but I have yet to find a pair of gloves that are super warm and look cool so I wear mitts for everything all the time.
 
I have Oakley Pipe gloves and they aren't very good. They get wet and really cold. I'm getting burton oven mitts because my fingers are always cold, so i'll say mitts FTW.
 
havent used mittens for skiing in forever, how is grabbing with them? cause i was thinking about picking up a pair because my hands have been getting cold
 
I personally ride with mittens as much as possible. I love everything about them.

I would recommend you check out Seirus. They make a ton of awesome gloves that are honestly some of the best gloves I have ever used. Definitely worth a look

dakine baron mitt. just picked these up, then skied in some hard core Mt. Hood freezing rain. Hands were completely dry after. Well worth $75
 
I have to wear mittens like 98% of the time, if not I will freeze. My fingers gets cold very easy, also wearing mittens is more comfy I think.
 
i use pipe gloves. as long as your entire body is circulating heat it doesnt matter what kind ofgloves or mittens you have as long as your entire body is warm so wear lots ofnlayers. sorry for typos, im on mobile.
 
I had goose down insulated mitttens for those friggen freezin days but I just found that annoying as it was a hassle just to do my boots up
