Glidecam vs. fig rig?

I wan wondering how much better a glidecam will be on skis as opposed to a fig rig, I know that it will be a lot steadier doing other things like walking shots and whatnot, but seeing as skiing is pretty smooth already could you get by just with a fig rig? I noticed that's what they were using in some urban shots in Sunny, and it seemed pretty smooth.

totally different things for totally different looks. Want smooth video? glidecam. Want a slight shake to it? fig rig

on another note, WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK YOU CAN CUT CORNERS GET A FUCKING GLIDECAM JESUS FUCK THERE'S A REASON IT'S RECOMMENDED ALL THE TIME
