Glidecam HD vs XR

So i've been looking at getting a glidecam for a littl while now, and when a b&h catalogue showed up in the mail i immedietly looked at the page with the glidecams. I saw the XR series and the HD series bothig having versions for different weights of cameras and other similar features like the 3-axis gimbal. So why is the HD series so much more expensive than the XR series? The XR series is supposedly for smaller camcorder but what small cam weighs 4-10 lbs? My t3i with my heaviest lens is only 2lbs 7 oz.

someone explain this to me.

TL;DR: whats the difference between the HD series and XR series. Why the price difference

have you tried google?

HD series has a better build quality, its a lot easier and fast to balance IMO

I would go with the XR-2000 if you wont be changing cameras and lenses during the shoot.

i had googled, it just still wasn't terribly clear to me. Since my setup i will be using is definitely under 3 lbs. should i still get the XR-2000? i won't be changing lenses or body's at all for what I'm thinking of using it for. i feel like the xr-1000 would be fine for my weight

It would be fine to go with The xr-1000, but if you want to upgrade to a new camera or heavier lenses or have a setup with a dslr, standard zoom lens and a video mic I would go with the 2000. It can also be a pain to balance if you are near the minimum or maximum weight. Either should work fine for you

It's easiest to balance when it's closest to max weight.
