Gl2 or vx2000

me and my friends are looking at a new camera and this is what weve come down to gl2 or vx2000, ive read reviews on the gl's and that they break really easy and the buttons go all fucked within liek a few months, the vx is expensive but is it worth it??

 
canon is really reliable, I would go with the gl2

I have found the price of the GL2 on eBay goes for much more than the vx2000. I have the vx and love it. No experiance with the GL2 but I am sure whichever you go with you will be pleased.

look at panisonics 3chips, their top end one is pretty dope, the ccds are bigger then the gl2 and it takes 4mp stills, but the optical zoom is only like x10.

overall picture quality and low light and CCD sensors are better than the VX. the GL2 has better optics and better image stabilization.

Having had the chance to use both a GL2 and a VX2100 in my life, I'd say go VX2100, I know it's not the 2000 but I'm sure that's just as good.

As far as the Panasonics, the cheap 3CCD ones aren't that great, sure they have 3CCDs but they are all small in size...you get what you pay for.

^ I'm pretty sure the ccds on the panisonic are bigger then the gl2.. I could be wrong but I'm positive I read it somwheres.

The GL2 has 3 1/4' CCDs. Panasonic's consumer models have the following CCD sizes respectively: PV-GS400 - 1/4.7' ($1500), PV-GS200 - 1/6' ($1000), PV-GS120 - 1/6' ($700). The only model Panasonic sells with a bigger CCD than the GL2 is it's professional AG-DVX100A, with 1/3' CCDs at $4,000. A few others have CCDs the same size, check their website.

Not that that's the only thing you should consider in a miniDV camcorder, but it's important to image quality.

the new sony hd is a piece of shit, And the vx's work better in low light than the DVX's.

thanks alot uuurbody..everybody, we just found a vx2000 for like $1400 canadien! hahaha off some website in brooklyn i think, hopefully its not hot hahaha so the vx it is

jobs??? i bought mine from stringing peoples lacrosse heads and dying them. thats $80 to get both done. And alot of people in my town play lax so i make a killing

We've never heard (^) that before.

I'm looking at them both right now, but I don't need to decide just yet. I would think followcams wouldn't be bad with a GL2 considering the top handle? Maybe I'm wrong?

Both the GL series and the VX series have top handles.
