Giro Revolver

So I need a new helmet, and I've been torn between the Giro Shiv and the Revolver. I've always had Giros, and I like the company, but I want something with a lower profile than my G10. Everyone that I know who has the shiv loves it, but I was curious about the Revolvers Goggle Channel. Can anyone help me with the pros and cons of both helmets?

I have the revolver and its real comfy and the goggle channel thing works well. Also, the ear covers alone have kept my ears warm in 20 below 0. The only thing I dont like is the shape of the helmet. I think from the front it looks kinda weird. It has kept my head safe after some pretty intense crashes as well

The Revolver is sick. I use the interior goggle channel, and it works as designed. This is my favorite helmet I've ever had.

Super super awesome helmet. The inner goggle strap channel works really well, The price is good it fits good. I dont think I have any cons with the helmet. The vents on the peak part work really well to help stop goggles from fogging. keeps your head warm when its cold... and doesnt make you to hot when its warm

I personally own both helmets. The shiv is far lighter weight, however the revolver has more of a plastic "shell" where as the shiv is just a thin layer of plastic on top of the foam. I find that this makes the revolver more impact resistant but heavier... My shiv gets little dents from bumping it on things when i carry it. The revolver is a much thicker plastic and seems like itd take a harder impact a lot better

if your wanting a safer helment go with the revolver, the shiv is just an awkward fit for just about everyone and it is not good on impacts. I had a minor concussion this weekend and I'm convinced that things would have ended better if i was wearing a better helment..

I have the Revolver and it has treated me good. The ear flaps are a little small for me, but I really like how they are attached and go behind the helmet. In my experience they do run big though. I norm wear a large or L/XL and my Revolver is a medium

i have the giro shiv in matte pop and i LOVE it. the revolver looks more like an army type helmet and is more protected but about 1.5x as heavy. if you huck huge shit like triple cork 14s off 500 ft cliffs get the revolver. the shiv kooks g and if you have bigger head that like sticks up high or if you have a big forehead the shiv is for you

ive had both. i got a revolver after my shiv got stolen and honestly i think that the revolver is a better helmet. the slight brim thing is good for ventilation and airflow and it makes so there is no gap between your goggs and helmet. great fit, light. the shiv is a little lighter but nothing noticeable.

Thanks for the help guys. Now, does the Revolver still have a low profile look like the Shiv? Because that's what I'm looking for (along with a good helmet), is a good quality helmet that is low profile.

in my opinion, the shiv looks pretty much the same as the revolver, just without a brim and with more rounded edges. its as low profile as the revolver in my opinion
