Giro Bad Lieutenant- The Helmet the ushered in the thug era

Since we are talking about OG stuff here on NS I wanted to bring up the iconic helmet of years past- the Giro Bad Lieutenant. Back in the early 00s if you wanted a helmet you had to get a lame race or gaper type helmet which sucked. Then Giro came along and made a badass helmet focused on park riders in some really dope designs. IMO this was really the piece of gear that ushered in the 'Thug' era of skiing with its park focus and radical styling. No vents meant it got hot and foggy as hell though. The design also forced you to wear your goggles under the helmet. Anyone here rock these back in the day?

Here are some of the different colors etc-

I competed in that helmet for a few years. I never really wore one outside of comps which I now regret...

I found them ugly as fuck at the start. Looked like a dick head... but then it was the style that really caught on. Giro was the innovator in helmet design

I will never be able to unsee this now

lol my tete skiing homeboy was still rocking one of these until just a couple years ago when someone finally gave him a new helmet. brim thing doesn’t interface quite right with any goggles

How old do we have to be before this and xxl tall cotton tees become gaper day garb?

I think the bad lt. is already gaper day garb.

Hopefully tall and baggy gear will be every day garb for generations to come

this was the sick helmet to have in the mid 2000s for sure

idk if it ushered in the tall t era of skiing though. The early/mid 2000s was an era all on it's own. What really ushered in the tall t era was the outerwear that salomon made, the rise of online edits, and of course tall ts.

I remember wanting one of these for sure. But really the Bern helmets with the brim on them was what I would have killed for!

Wow I remember wanting one of those really badly when I was like 10 and my dad refused to buy it for me because he thought it was ugly.
