I want to buy my first pair of twin tips skis, I ski on the east coast 1/2 in park 1/2 on trails and was wondering if anyone has any recommonadtions on what are good twin tips to buy. I have been reading up on a bunch of different skis and have heard the best stuff about the Aramada but is that to much cash to spend on your first pair of twin tips?? Also I am 5'5', 120 pounds and was wondering what length ski I should buy? Let me know, THANKS!!!

pimp that shit

boys are mean, throw rocks at them...

Dont go with armada or 4frnts because they will probley be to stiff for you unless you can really ski well (like if you used to race). Go with somethign softer like the scratch or the 1080.

yeah i am also wanting to buy my first twin tips. i am 5 4 120 pounds and i liek to ski mostly on the trails and i want to start hitting jumps and stuff, i want to try rails but i am scared. hehe maybe one day. what do you guys think would be a good ski?

Depends on riding ability and strength. Lighter smaller riders could go with a ski like a Fujative or a 1080, a stronger heavier rider could go with a PE or TM. My picks' the PE***.

just get what ones you think are the prettiest. no joke. I dont feel a big difference between twins. some are bigger and some are more flexy but no big difference. just dont get ripped off. so ....basically any K2 ski

-> Colleen

....do you ski at waterville?

go with either PE's or scratch

i'm also 5'5' and 120. I have Volkl Vs from a few years ago, and they were my first twin tip. I got them for like 320$, but don't get volkls. Theyre fine for just riding, but to stiff to butter, etc. I have 158s (and the length is perfect for me) and my friend who is about the same size has 168s (which are too long). I'm trying to buy a pair of Armada AR5s in 160 for next season. (i used to race) Definately get something thats in the 158-165 range. Any shorter will look gay, and any longer will be harder for you to flex/get around in spins/etc. Its hard as hell to find twin tip 160s that arent ugly. all the promodels are like 175. Lines are cheaper, but i hear they fall apart more easily, but that was a couple years ago. Get Dynastar troublemakers, AR5s, 4frnt MSPs, K2 PEs, or 1080s. They're all good skis. Those are basically your options. how much money you spend should depend on how much money you have and how serious you are about it. i would look at the 02/03 models if money is an issue.

Atomic tweaks are a fun ski, or the scratch fs (they ski pretty much the same). It depends on how aggressive of a skier you are you, or if you want to rip all mountain and do park, or just do park. I'd go in the range of 155-165. A longer or stiffer ski will want to be skied hard all the time, and if you're not into that, then look into a ski with good flex. My friend has the 171 1080, and she loves them. She's about your height and weight too.

Whatever you do, dont get public enemys. They have proven timae and time again to be a cheaply made ski. Several of my friends got them expecting a good ski and hated them after a couple days of skiing on. I wouldnt go 1080 unless ur comfortable landing, cus they are a really flexi ski, and people that are not familiar to landing might have trouble. A ski that I love is the head Mad Trix. Preety stiff, but totally durable, and pretty wide, so its one of the best all mountain skis out there.
