Yea i probably somehow screwed up the links, but fuck it. After a 15 hour work day i'm not in the mood to deal with it.

Anyways. This guy overlaps old photos from the war with modern photos of the same location, and the result is, in my opinion, stunning. The rebuilding from World War II always fascinated me. I've been to normandy, and seen all the little villages that at one point were packed full of germans, then eventually americans/brits, and it always struck me as being strange to think of how the very same buildings/streets i'm on were bombed to hell, invaded, occupied, bombed again, then invaded again.

just thought some ns'ers who have an interest in history would like these...

i logged in to say that that is AWESOME.. here's my favorite

my favorites are the ones with lines of soldiers marching down a street with cars parked on the side, next to modern buildings with civilians on the sidewalk.

yea some of them are poorly done, but i imagine it must be a bit difficult to do, being that you have to line up things from 60+ years ago in a modern setting. You know there's gotta be random shit like a lamp post dead in the middle of where he wanted to overlap the photos that he has to deal with.
