Right now I am on panasonic, and I am looking to upgrade to a GH4 or a Sony a6300. What would you guys recommend? I've heard/seen really good things of both, and I'm not quite sure what route to go. I would be using it for mostly video, but if I could get good pictures out of it, that would be an added bonus.

Thanks NS

I had that same thing. I had a gh3 and had a bunch of lenses. I thought about getting the GH4. It depends how much money you wana spend because going to sony you cant use any of the lenses you already own. I decided to get the a7s ii. Camera is insane plus I shoot a LOT at night.

Idk if that helped... thought I'd share that

if i was about to buy a new camera i'd go with the a6300. higher ISO capability, 4k, 120fps full hd, smaller and lighter.

i currently have a gh3 which works great for me but i'd really love the versatility of having such a small body, especially for travelling. Not to mention the high ISO would be lovely for shooting in lower light situations, especially festivals/music events.

I have an a6300 and I love it. Over heating problem hasn't effected me at all. Rolling shuter is only really a problem if you do a lot of shaky 4k stuff but it dosn't really affect 1080 footage at all. It's a really good option if you are also interested in photography and want a camera that can do both much better than the gh4 imo at nearly half the price.

I jumped on the A7sii when it dropped right away and it was the best decision that I have ever made in my entire life. So I would go with the Sony. Smaller and lighter is nice for traveling. 120FPS is also a real nice feature, also cant be the interface. I personally love it.
