Gh4 vs A7s vs Fs100

Im trying to decide what my next setup should be. I like the 4k internal of the gh4 but the ISO seems very helpful for filming at night on the a7s. I was going to pull the trigger on the a7s but I heard the rolling shutter is awful, is it actually as bad as people say? Also would the fs100 be worth it to spend the extra bit of money?

(Note: will be adapting to canon lenses)
 
fs100 is more of a film making camera but its definitely the best out of your options listed if form factor and price isnt an issue
 
FS100 is already outdated. Go with the GH4 for internal 4K, go with the A7s if you value sensor size+low light capabilities. The FS100 has horrible ergonomics, and isn't wort the hassle if you're working solo. But yeah, the FS 100 also goes cheaper than the A7s nowadays.

Mmmm I loved my fs100. It was my favorite. You can get a used fs100 for a good price these day, 1500-2000

Anyways, I'd say wait it out a bit if you can, a new gen is coming gh5 probably a 4k a7s and probably a (internal)4k fs700.

I'm pretty much making the same decision between a7s and fs700 and concluded that rolling shutter is a small price to pay for the huge benefits of the a7s. That's what I'll be getting

everyone talks about the low light... but in reality you should be properly exposing your shots most of the time, so when does that really come in handy? (although if you're constantly hiking up everest or shooting a full movie at night where there's no lights or some shit where you'd not want to lug any gear/are actually using the iso capabilities cause there's no other options that's a different story.)

The rolling shutter on the A7s is not as bad as people make it out to be and it's better in crop censor mode and at 60fps. The Gh4 is a nice camera, but the A7s has way better dynamic range and allows for easier better looking color grading with s-log2. Also, do you even have a computer capable of playing, much less editing, 4k footage?

I liked that my fs100 could go to 5000 iso without grain, then I could take any of my lenses/a slow lens and be able to use it at f5.6 while shooting urban/something lit up for skiing.

But you're right though, for everything i had shot in the past for my current job, we'd always have everything lit or shot with daylight, etc i never went past like 1000 iso on my fs100 for normal day to day shit.

I know of a handful of people who use the a7s and some use them every day at the hill (napes, tom arnell who make the i ride pc edits) and ive never seen a bad rolling shutter shot from them and ive never heard any of them complain about it. Its not worth getting hung up on pixel peepers, they usually put a camera through the most extreme tests that never mimic a real life situation.
