Where the hell is the snow? Last year I was hiking up the Tobacco Roots with 30+ inches up there on October 7th.

Just going through withdraw of no beginning of October snowstorm.

I was so disappointed to wake up to a bare yard.

The snow we got up here has drifted pretty well the past few days. Drove the tram road and the duck walk and they both had spots over 3 ft deep. Snow guns fire up here on the 30th

Keep in mind that early season snow more often than not causes long-term snow instability. I'll take awesome, safe February skiing over mediocre October turns any day.
