Getting rid of sigs

I belong to a few other forums that do not allow signitures at the end of posts, and I find it is MUCH less cluttered and easier to read. If I were to try and make a push for getting rid of them, would the response be overwelmingly "go to hell, i love my sig" or what? Lots of people seem to have them on here, but for the most part it is just inside jokes, quotes, or random stuff. I think that would fit in nicely in their profile opposed to a sig.

what is your opinion?
 
The only sig that used to piss me off was Timmi's. Ah that one always got me, but now I dont caught my it.
 
it definetly helps when people put a line, or a bold name like you did to seperate it.

i guess its just wierd for me because none of the other forums i frequent allow them. they also use a newer version of VBB or whatever its called though, so maybe that plays a difference.

all in all, i just find them to be very cluttered, disorganized and unnecessary.
 
thats what i'm saying... at the very minimum a line or some shit should be there if sigs are going to be allowed. i would think having it easier to read and process would make it a lot more enjoyable and usefull for everyone.
 
i would benefit, sure. i also think others would too though. its not a wholly selfish thought process. just my two cents on improving the site.
 
well fair enough... i won't disagree... but making lines mandatory just kinda seems secondary to other things the site could do... if you know what i mean...
 
an option for disabling sigs would work too. and i'm pretty sure an admin can make it automatically put a line, or chance the sig's font. but what do i know about computers? either way, i think it would be stupid if every user had to put the line in themselves.

i agree its a relatively small change... but honestly? i'm not that ambitious. i don't need to take over the world. small attempts at contributions for now. if i was really into getting things changed, i'd push a better search function or a newer forum software. i don't really know enough about stuff for that though.
 
i like reaing other peoples sigs most of the time they are quite funny but then there are those really annoying ones
 
yeah, no more not knowing what the hell it is you're reading, make at like italic or something.
 
give your self to learn how to surf through ns, eventualy not getting caught up in sigs, even timmi's is second habbit.
