Getting Karma!!

So i just started out on newschoolers and i was just wondering how to get my karma up and get a good rep on here? Im looking to sell a few items that i own and i know you need a good rep to sell stuff. Just looking for any good ideas, thanks a lot guys. +k for anyone that can help me out.
 
Welcome! I gave you some to start! LIke said above read ALL the stickied threads and spend some time browsing the forums to see what people do and don't post. Do that and you will be better off than half the members on hear.
 
Contribute media and get it upvoted. The more people see your media, the better you'll score.

Ummm, this may actually have a detrimental effect on your karma unless the thread you make is particularly significant. Although if your making a tonne of threads on regular basis there's a good chance you'll start to run out of original thread ideas and this will start to irritate other members, who as a result maybe start giving you lower ratings.
 
if you fish for karma youre probably not going to get it! its just internet points i wouldnt stress too much just enjoy the experience and be a good member and im sure itll grow.
 
One great way to get Karma is by sharing news articles from other ski sites. We work a little like reddit/facebook here that our news consists of lots of things from elsewhere.

So if you're reading Unofficial, TGR, Powder, Freeskier, etc. and you see something that everyone here might like, just copy the link, hit 'upload' - paste that bitch in there, click post and you're good to go.

If you get upvotes, views and such you'll rack up the karmaz in nothing flat.

I believe it is schmuck by a long shot, the dude has like 58 million karma points due to a all his news/other interesting stuff

Yeah at one point we had to assign all the old news articles to someone (literally like 10 years worth) and that boosted the fuck out of his Karma. I lost my top spot and was sad. :(

Everybody saying they're new to this sight has more karma than me haha. Thats alright though, sometimes I am just the disliked character..Mostly because of what I believe

Well you give karma every time you upvote someone... but what you're right about is that there isn't the ability to specifically give them member karma in there.

We're actually going to simplify the karma system so it is tied to the way you vote on other members, so for right now since we're retiring that part of it we left it out of the app.
