Getting better?? getting sponsored??

Best answer on the whole thread. +Karma

thanks for not being a hater and bringing him down. Your totally right on all of those ideas!

Go shred with ur friends and push each other i mean you'll probably end up getting better that way and if u do get better and still want to get sponsored then go for it, i mean i would like some free shit or discounted.

Finally someone answered his question without being a d-bag (allen). I don't know why everyone thinks that being sponsored is the end of a person's life. Like Holte said, if they became a d-bag because of a sponsorship, it was probably inevitable.

what in the world were you thinking when you made this post?

any companies are not telling people that they "just cant right now". they just dont want some kid who walks around all bewildered at the fact that even with all the tricks he can do no one will give him free shit representing their company.

you want to know wat it takes to get sponsored?

one word-personality.

YOu dont have to be the best in the sport hell you don't even have to be the 10th best. What matters is you being a talkative, energetic, kid. A company doesn't want some thugged out kid acting like he is gonna shoot up the god dam ski resort. THey want you promote their product to the gapers, the weekend skiers. MY classic example is my friend who is sponsored by sport chalet, a bigger sporting good retailer out in cali/west coast. He will tell you he isnt the best and now that he is in college he isn't looking to bust his balls skiing.Yes he throws 9s and switch back flips. But thats it he doesnt even like spinning onto rails anymore. But what he does have is a great attitude and thats what the people like to see.

I picked up his stuff and this is wat he had:

technica boots

new dumonts

new bindings

new oakley outerwear

new crowbars to match

new ski case

new scott poles

and for what, talent that alot of you guys on this website have, but i will say it again, him and his friend have personality and positive attitude and those are the kind of kids you want to give your product to.

So next time you see a rep be forward and show him or her why you want to be sponsored.

Thats just what i have seen from personal experience.

if you love ski, get a job as a groomer at night and you get a free lift pass and just live in your car, thats how you ski for free

my shinbang hurts, ive never had it before
