Geting skis driled for the 3rd time bad?

Hey guys i bought some skis and had to get them redriled to fit my bindings which was fine algood but now i have new bindings again and will have to get them drilled for the 3rd time is this bad for them???
 
Anytime you have to drill it's bad. Make sure all holes are plugged with something, at our shop we hammer in plastic cones. But anyway on lease skis we have drilled the same pair like 5 times. Which is real bad but they are shitly lease skis so it doesn't matter.
 
Sorry for the double post but I didn't really answer your question. 3 is a lot for a personal pair of skis. But there is worse things. If all holes are plugged it just weakens the core and its gets easier the snap. If the holes are not plugged water could get in and rot the core from the inside out which a is not good to say the least
 
no problem i don't mind :) I get it done by my local ski shop and they plug the holes with some plastic. (i assume its the same as what you guys would do).

dose that make it less risking that professionals are doing it not me?
 
What is the reason for swapping bindings? I could see remounting if you sized up in ski boots, maybe if you need a higher din, but otherwise I wouldn't bother. If you aren't changing boot size, the shop might find it hard to place your third mount meaning you could be further forward or back from where you want to be.
 
The reason you hear the whole 3 mount rule all the time is more just that usually that is all there is room for on a ski. In theory you could mount a ski a lot more if there was space. They would get slightly less strong but you would need to do a lot of mounts until it was really an issue.

The he problem you may have is if your staying wit the same size boot the old holes may interfere wit the new ones if you also want to keep the same mount point. You may find you need to mount them slightly forward or back to fit and if you don't want to do this you may be better stockin with your old bindings.
 
the reason im getting them remounted is my bindings broke so i had to get another pair and the ones im using mount a different way they are rail flex bindings so you mount the rail on the then bindings slid onto the rail etc etc so they are same size boot etc but with the rail flex they screw into a new spot. (the rail flex bindings screw in about 2 inches above the old holes )

Interesting i have not seen much of those. You did get the right size? Take tem to a decent shop and just have them look at the hole placement. So long as there is 1cm between the old holes and te new you are good.
 
yo I re-drilled my k2 press once and then redrillled the nose piece up a bit. so they have been drilled 2.5 times. I weigh 130 and am like 5'10 and they are still fine

Is your h key broken
 
my scotts have been mounted 4 times. they have a mush core so after the first pullout i superglued the one binding heel back in.

never had any problems since
