This kid is such a legit skater. His name is Zander Mendez. He's a really chill, nice kid. He's got a lot of talent. Skates flow for Monster, and then for a local shop. I know this is a ski website, but I thought I'd help give him a little exposure if I could. Don't know if anyone on here has any pull in the skate industry, but if so let me know. I think I am getting him on Smith. Check the vids!

Yeah the kickflip to front board is legit, but the kickflip back lip is even more crazy. My favorite is the 360 flip to manual in the other edit. Soooo legit.

Yea there are thousands of amazing skaters in america, its hard to stand out. Companies choose kids in pretty random ways. Mixing old school, and doing weird ass tricks is currently "cool." This kid is pretty dece though.

the truth is we take for granted just how small the skiing community actually is. there are millions of kids in the skate world and so many of them have crazy talent. its hard for a company to pick and choose single skaters unless they show something incredible. most kids will never get noticed unless they already have some sick connections or go out and start winning comps. i've got a handful of friends with serious talent that only have a couple small local sponsors. with such a big industry its quite a bit harder. good luck to the kid though. looks like he does have some pretty raw potential.

 
hes definitely legit, but this friend of mine Derek is probs 3 yrs younger and is ridiculously good for only having a shop sponsor.
 
Holy! That was probably the craziest skate vid I've ever seen. haha. It was super original like think thank or traveling circus! Stoked on that.
 
i dont really know what it takes to get sponsored in skating... but what i do do know is that there are alot of kids who can skate just like he can
 
Damn that kid kills it. Three flip to manual and kickflip to front board whaaaaat?! He definitely has the potential to land some sponsorships. That skate ninja video or whatever the fuck it was called was absolutely crazy too. The backflip off the wall he does at the end is one of the sickest things I've ever seen done on a skateboard
 
I don't know I'm not too stoked on the kid's skating. Sure he's good but he doesn't make me go, HOLY SHIT!!!! maybe I'm jaded from watching the xgames too often, but personally I didn't find it that good.
 
Your friend is sick, and why don't I go to the Montrose skate park more? it's like an hour from me, but I have not been there in a long ass time, looks so good now.
