Scott29~: "bullshit girl power"? "killing yourself" over it? if you're above the age of 18 I'm feeling very sorry for your mother and her unfortunately ignorant son. Last time I checked, every skier dude digs a chick who can rip, and thanks to organizations like SheJumps, they're bringing ski babes out of the woodwork by the numbers... So, the next time you feel like busting out the term "bullshit girl power" I'd encourage you to ask yourself if you think bringing more women in to the sport is something you find a worthy endeavor. You like skiing, right? Well so do we, and in it's present chick-less state, it's women like dear Lynsey D, her SheJumps org, and rach here on NS, that are making it a little more feasible for us ladies to be involved on a real, serious level.
So, it's pretty rare that I feel the need to call people out on the internet, but after reading a fair amount of nasty things about women on ns lately, (this isn't just in reaction to Scott29~ and "bullshit girl power") I'm just hoping a few might think twice next time. My own skiing community has mainly been nothing but lots of love, a source of inspiration, support, and general life stoke, and it bums me out that ladies in other shoes have to deal with this annoying crap. We all love skiing, and some of us have vaginas. Get over it.
Boys out there who love the radness in their skier-girl friends, we love you too. Keep on keepin' on.
