Germany is epic

Got back from our school German trip last week and I miss Germany so terribly much. Our German class went for 2 weeks and we spent 4 days in Munich, 6 for a family stay in Regensburg, and 3 days in Berlin. My most favorite part of the trip was the family stay. I made a ton of new friends in Regensburg and partied it up at the disco on the weekend. Bayern in general is just the place to be. The beer is good, there are lots of good looking girls, and the bavarian accent is so sexy.

Berlin was kind of meh. It seemed like a Germanized NYC. Plus i was kindof depressed because of missing Regensburg.

Main thing i learned is that there are more good looking girls, better beer, cooler history, they do things more efficiently, and that Germany is just awesome.

I convinced my parents to let me study in Munich for a year after I finish my first year of college. Then either come back to ISU or finish out a degree at TUM in Munich if I decide to stay.

Fuck I miss Germany.

I was an exchange student to hamburg. It was definitely one of best experiences for me in high school. I still miss it almost 3 years later. I'm definitely going back to visit my friends there as soon as I gett he money. They've come here multiple times, hopefully the same will be true for you.

DUDE. No joke I am leaving for Germany tomorrow. I'm going with a couple of my best friends (inb4 sausage fest, half are female) for 10 days. I am so excited. I got Pokemon FireRed all loaded up for the plane flight. We are going to Munich and Berlin, and seeing all sorts of sweet places.

You have gotten me more excited for this!

an even cooler city in germany is freiburg.

its in southern germnay close to switzerland, and its at the base of the black forest so theres really cool hiking, and ok skiing in the winter. theres a university there too, thats really good, my dad went there for one year study abroad and then ended up finishing school there. if youre really into germany you shold check it out, you wont be dissapointed.i swear

yeah dude Germany is the place to be. All of my family comes from Germany, and all I want to do is to go back and visit and possibly reunite with some old family. My brother went over to Germany 2 years ago and said it was the best experience of his life. Also my school went on a trip to Germany (i did not go because of other reasons. really pissed i did not go though) and everyone there did not want to leave. I am joining the US Air Force when I graduate this year and I have been talking to my sgt. and pushing and asking to be stationed in Germnay for my four years. But yes Germant has everything great, the beer, soccer, cars and girls. Glad to hear you had a great time over there, and hope that you can go to school over there.

In fact I'm going to say that your wrong on all those aspects, except maybe the women, but I'm going to take a stab and say theyre still nothing compared to the cuties I saw in Deutschland.

i lived in bavaria for like 7 years before i came back to washington. Regensburg is so filthy!! Too bad you didn't have fun in Berlin, when i went it was so much fun but probably cause it was a city and i was used to living in my small farm town haha.

Idk I just don't like huge cities. I liked the feel of Munich alot more than Berlin, but it may have been the older buildings that did it too. Berlin just felt too foreign for me for some reason.

Berlin is the best city in Germany BY FAR. The clubs there are known to be the best in the world. The parties role deep into the morning and next afternoon even. I've been to Tresor and Watergate, seeing famous DJs like Crookers, DJ Hell, Jeff Mills, Michael Mayer play sets, and honestly it was an experience I will never forget. I am so looking forward to my 6 week summer semester at the Freie Universitaet Berlin!

sam adams is really not that good. i mean sure, compared to the other pisswaters most americans consider beer, but not compared to the majority of german beer, or some microbrewed beers from basically anywhere.

I'm sure that's why Sam Adams has won numerous international beer awards, huh? Sure, Germany has a cool history, but it is inevitably similar to the history of all European countries. The United States has a singularly unique history and political tradition.

i didnt read much of the thread, but please tell me u went to the hafbrau house in Munich, that place was the shittt

This statement shows your complete lack of knowledge about anything beer related
Sam Adams is a very well respected brewery and has won many awards for their core/seasonal and limited edition brews
To say they are lacking in anything but brewing history to German brewers is foolish..its personal taste as to which style of beer you enjoy more but sam adams absolutely holds its own compared to german breweries

America has nothing like Reinheitsgebot. Basically stipulates you can only make pure beer, no other shit in it. The entire country mandated it, that's how much they care about beer.

That being said, Sam Adams is probably one of the best north american beers.

on the topic of beer + countries, go over the border to Poland and Czech Rep, beer is excellent (pilsner invented in Czech Rep) the towns and cities are fantastic and the girls just as if not more beautiful
