Is it just me or does this winter feel like it's flying? (all winters fly, but this one more than most)

For sure but I think the frequent storms are helping this year instead of constantly wishing for a storm now we are being hit with snow regularly

I'm from Wachusett, we have been just getting random spring days, and it's awesome. not as much snow though. I miss living in vermont...

yo guys, what would you like to see in a freestyle/freeride oriented shop in the burlington area? i'm thinking of opening one next year. i want to be very community focused, hosting events (both on-snow and off) and even providing/increasing access to park ski setups for kids in the btv metro area.

what brands would you like to see? are there any unique ideas you've ever had for a shop? is there anything that would make you travel from elsewhere in new england to visit?

Sounds dope! Kinda tricky tho with the current demographic in the free ski world right now. Feel like everyone is interested in companies like anytides, arsenic, jiberish, vishnu, surface, thrifting, underground type vibe. A lot of these business models run off of intermittent release drops to create an "evangalist" type following. I feel like many of these companies don't want to be in the retail/store front part of the environment because it's bumps up the price of everything. Burlington is a great area with opportunity, access to movie showings/ cool undeground ski demo's, weekly ski meetups, an optimized social media, chill authentic vibes are a few things that would make me choose another shop over Skirack

this is a main goal if the space allows for it! also i got this idea to scavenge pvc and have a tiny corner of the store with scavenged pvc at a discount from what it would cost at lowes, in order to hook up the backyard rail builders. probably would do the same thing with thrifted ski wear, since i have experience with that as well

definitely feel that, because i'm the same way. i feel that the industry is pretty wack and i like what the small companies have been doing. i would definitely try to carry as many small brands as possible; i'm hoping that once this gets off the ground a little bit that a couple of those companies would be willing to work with me due to my focus on community and shared interests.

there's no doubt that i would have to carry a few bigger brands to appeal to an older crowd with more money as well. i'm pretty into touring so i think i would basically be a 'freeride' focused shop in order to round out sales.

i'm also pretty set on eventually sponsoring a few kids and having a team. i miss that aspect of skate/ski culture and it feels like it completely died in the early 2010s.

how important would service offerings be to you guys? i definitely would do mounts and waxing, would it be worth investing in a base sander/even a stone grinder? edger?

i like the idea a lot, but I am based in central NH, so a trip there would be a bit far. A freestyle shop would be worth the trip though. I'd also visit if you had some movie nights with level1 ovies, inspired, HG skis movies, and some newer parts

I'm in northern VT and I always try to get a spring day at Killi in. Anybody in the area think the peace park will still be good next week?

skiing is free at black mountain of maine this weekend. It's an extremely dope place, redneck with 4 teeth loads the lift and the guy at the top is more baked than you are. No park but also no rules
