Gay park skiers?

okay seriously I cant be the only gay man who LOVES skiing park. The only male gay skiers I've seen thus far have been more interested in the social and back country side of skiing. where are my park skiers at?!?
 
I'm not saying being gay is bad but if OP is telling truth your probably the first one to admit it openly, on this forum.

Also could just be the start of the worst troll thread in history. Could go either way.

Knowing NS this thread is gonna end weird or bad.

OP, every winter there is a big homosexual ski and snowboard event in Whistler. They're all over the village and the mountain. But, you're right, there doesn't seem to be too many in the park that I've noticed.
 
Did you really expect anything different? Kid asks if there's any other gay park skiers on NS... you'll have your hands full for a few days until either

1. this thread gets deleted

2. kids get bored and move on to other victims

This is ns, mature and thought provoking material are few and far between.

 
you don't congratulate someone on their sexual preference.. why do you nerdy mods delete comments? this sport used to be about raging, shredding, being obnoxious, offending people, making them laugh, acting immature.. now its.. oh don't say that you might hurt someones feelings. YOU ARE NERDS!

A good portion on NS are 12-17 years old, hence the immaturity. Respect OP, and no I do not know any other LGBT park skiers.
 
How about congratulating them on sharing a side to themselves that can and will inspire hatred from others? Being gay isn't anything special, but bigots make being honest about a commendable act. Especially in a macho world like freeskiing.
 
I saw an interview with Lacey Baker and Vanessa Torres, two lesbians skateboarders and they were saying that they knew gay professionnal skateboarders that weren't reveal to the public.

It's probably the same in skiing, some skiers that we don't suspect are probably gay but who cares?

I think that skiers showing the bad exemple, or don't giving a fuck about their image which results in bas influence for kids, is much worse than gay skiers, which I'm absolutely comfortable with.
 
I'm just saying I think its unnecessary to congratulate someone for being gay. It's like congratulating someone for being black, white, mexican, jewish, etc.. oh your gay? Oh cool! high five and props for putting up with stereotypes! Every type of person has been targeted by hatred whether behind their back or to their face. If you wanted to congratulate and apologize a gay person for their stuggles you might as well high five and apologize to all the blacks, mexicans, whites, jews you see for all the hate they've experienced too.
 
Well I do respect people that have endured and stood up against persecution because of their race, religion, etc, same as I respect people who have done the same when targeted for their sexuality. What's your point?
 
My point is they aren't looking for a round of applause or congratulations. Gays (and all people who are discriminated against) just want to be treated the same as everyone else. Everyone has haters reguardless of sexual orientation, race or whatever. When gay friends or jewish friends or black or white friends of mine get made fun of they just laugh and/or brush it off because they don't want to make an issue of it. And by congratulating or whatever.. YOU'RE creating an issue that they themselves dismissed.
 
gay as a goose here, still riding park at bear mountain once a week. also enjoying more of the mountain as i get older.

more skiers out there then you might think :)
 
Jossi Wells? Kidding. I'm sure there are plenty of LBGT skiers out there. I think one thing to consider is that your average park skier is fairly young, and many young people have not yet come out of the closet.

Just because your friends dismissed it doesn't mean all people discriminated against have. And that's not true, white males take no hate.
 
Given the majority of the NS population are teens from 12 to 20, im sure alot of them haven't quite yet figured our their sexuality, or aren't planning on admitting it any time soon.
 
I would love to see the day that a middle class white male can walk through Compton in a business suit without taking hate.

Yeah white males get no hate.. that's why that white kid had his ass beat for nothing by a bunch of black kids on that bus in Florida.

Whites take hate from guys in Compton because Compton was hated on by whites. It's a getting-even kind of deal. Same with the white kid on the bus in Florida that Rick Roll referenced. They hate us because we hated them. People don't discriminate against gays because they oppressed us or enslaved us or anything. It's a different situation.
 
I hardly think when they were beating that white kid they were thinking "this is revenge for enslaving my ancestors". Not really a different situation.. I tend to be believe most hate is senseless. Whether for sexual orientation or whatever. It's all the same to me... and while I don't agree with what you're saying, I respect your opinion.
 
Well neither of us can know for sure why it is considering that we can't read minds...chances are that that middle class white man isn't a racist, And chances are that kid in Compton isn't either. They do it because they think its cool, and their friends encourage it. Same thing goes for kids in an upperclass neighborhood. They whip out a couple of jokes against the kid who lives in government housing ( not necessarily to his face) and some kids laugh. The kid is now the center of attention. It is MY belief that racism is no longer largely fueled by hate. But more trying to feel cool. Not sure what this has to do anything in the thread......
 
Not at all. There's a few on here. Myself and at least a few others. Also who knows if OP is telling the truth or his friend going "HERHERHER I HAXED YUR ACCOUNT IM SO HAXER SKILLS".

But there def are some openly gay park skiers, not a ton but they're out there.
 
With the social climate changing, I wonder if we're gonna get a couple pros that will come out, after sochi of course.
 
Really not surprised by the hate. A lot of NS is sheltered rich white kids so you can easily tell how their views are influenced.
 
Its attitudes like that which spread mis-information. So far, this thread is pretty good.

If you ignore the trolls, there's plenty of good conversation on here, and plenty of open-minded people.

It mystifies me why anyone would give a fuck. Your bedroom should be your business.

And good job op, there are some really really dickish people on ns, maybe showing them that skiing is a diverse culture will help open their eyes to the fact that skiing accepts everyone.
