Gay Marriage

technically marriage is a man and a woman coming together so gays cannot get married. although they can have a civil union

yay!

its hard for me to believe that cuomo almost didnt sign this because both sides were yelling at eachother so much friday night. also, one of the senators i work for who is a democrat almost lost it after calling skelos' bluff and told him to go fuck himself.

Seriously. I just dont get some people's anger over this. So you don't believe in it, fine. That doesn't mean anyone else doesn't have the right to pursue their own happiness regardless of how it makes you feel. Nobody needs to live their life by someone else's standards if it's not hurting anyone else, and the holier-than-thou religious people can go get fucked AFAIC . Let he who is without sin cast the first stone, for real. We all have way too much to work on in respects to ourselves before we go trying to tell others how to live and love.

In all honesty though, homophobes crack me up. It's as if gays being allowed to exist unopressed somehow threatens your way of life or your "sexual safety". LOL at

So so so happy about this Neil patrick harris can finally get married to his long term boyfriend as well. I can't even imagine how good and those gay people must feel and be. Really what a great push forward to accaptance.

just to inform you its not just a religious vs non-religious argument.. its much more complex than that, and there are plenty of non-religious people that are against gay marriage

Yup, yay as well for New York. And I would also like to extend my thanks for the few Republican lawmakers who voted for passage of the law.

god some people are fucking dumb. can't all you guys with hillbilly politics just go live in alabama together? then we'll bomb alabama?

Then they too have every right to not marry someone of the same sex but their ideals should not govern what other people are allowed to do in respect to love and relationships so long as it does not physically harm someone. Imo of course.

I'm not a homophobe or anything, but today i saw something that angered me. there was this lesbian couple which had a son with them. he was around 17 or 18. The thing that angered me was that the son was basically treated like a girl. I'm pretty sure he was even wearing make up. Everything, from the things he wore, to his body language was feminine. I have nothing wrong with gays/lesbian/bi's etc but this sort of crossed the line for me.

im all for gay marriage. i actually encourage more people to be gay

1. it's easier to have a threesome with 2 lebians. Ive never done it but id assume.

2. gay people can't make babies together so the world is less populated.

3. less population means less people on earth so theres a greater chance of me getting rich as fuck

who cares. If we're worrying about this shit instead of things much more important, then some serious reality checks are in order.

I am a conservative (now more libertarian). I honestly believe that if the conservative party can't pull their heads out of their asses on social issues (ie-gay marriage, legalization of marijuana, etc.) they will continue in the downward spiral into oblivion. I for one have my own set of beliefs, construed by personal insight, my parents, my religion and my many interactions in this world. This is what I believe, but that does not mean that I, or anybody else with similar beliefs, has the right to legislate my morality on anybody else.

Get it together right-wingers (actually this goes for all policy makers), two people of the same sex getting married has absolutely no effect on your life. They are hurting no one. Stop trying to tell everybody how to live your life. FFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If marriage between a 21 year old and a 50 or 60 year old man is legal, then gay marriage isn't that bad. Technically to me it's wrong. But I've made out with my fare share of women so whateves.

why is it wrong to you? i just want to see your logic, not trying to offend or anything. besides being a staple(dont know if i used the correct word) in someones life, i think marriage is just a stupid ceremony like waiting for the tooth fairy or something. the only difference is theres a bunch of legal shit attached.

I'm Christian. But i'm not religious. I just believe in "one woman and one man coming together as one flesh" after marriage. I have an open mind, gay friends and accept everyone no matter what though.

oh, interesting. How old are you? Were you raised religious, didn't set in, and then decided to run with it more recently?

Whats the story?

I just started attending a rad church. I liked it a lot so I started going more. I can tell you right now I call myself a Christian and believe in most stuff but I have my opinions and thoughts on quite a bit. I'm 22 though and a normal 22 year old girl at that. I drink, curse and all of that fun stuff. It's toned down a lot over the past couple of years but I've had a crazy past, too. I think having moral is nice and I have a boyfriend who has the same back story as me, too. But I enjoy learning more about faith and other people faith too. Keeping an open mind is awesome and a lot of religious people dont do that. Im not religious, i'm a Christian. I believe they're two different things ya know? I'll never Bible thump or push religion on anyone. I respect everyone for who they are so all-in-all I'm not a crazy religious girl haha

If two gay guys are allowed to adopt a child it's just sad to think that that child will be raised without a mother. Everybody deserves a mother and I'm sorry but two guys cannot replace a mother.

i wasnt even commenting on the second part of your post, just the pegging of this as a religious battle part. Too many political arguments are pegged as religious vs non-religious when that isnt even close to the whole story (aka abortion)

i think what shes saying is that she notices all of the problems of the organized religion, and doesnt want to be a part of that, but still does believe that jesus came and died for us and that there is a God.
