Gas prices are ridiculous

next to 1 dollar or more for one litter of water

that 4 dollars or more for a gallon.

good thing we dont have any cars that run on water

i heard that san francisco's gas prices are supposed to get near $4/gallon by the end of the summer

get used to it.

i found the idea of the consumer population creating a price war between oil companies was one of the better solutions

you guys do realize that Gas has been this price in Europe for years.

its like 1.90 euros for 1 litter and their are 4 litters in a Gallon.

maybe having a 20 foot Cadillac and a 4 wheel drive off road SUV to drive your kid to soccer practice isnt that efficient.

yep the boycott of Exxon and Mobil is a very good idea. and ive heard lots of people talking about it.

and yet oil copmanies are turning in record and near record profits. Doesn't matter, I'm glad they are, forces people to walk and not be fat lazy americans.

YES! thank you. Americans are fat, lazy s.o.b.'s who take nearly everything for granted and do not consider whatsoever the consequences involved.

a bottle of water (12oz) is nothing near the price of gas IDIOTS.

1 gal = 128 oz

128/12 = 10.67

1gal gas = $3

1gal water = 10.67 x $1.99/bottle = $21.23

so tell me again how a gallon of gas is as much as a gallon of water?

in norway I have to pay like 2 bucks for 1 liter of gas, and I think 1 gallon is like 3-4 liters or something. It's shit expensive. and it's supposed to get worse.

dude... he was saying water is more expensive than gas, just not as severe as you claim.

and the simple fact that people on this thread are aware of the situation, and have strong feelings about it, negates you calling them idiots.

thanks though, i did not realize bottled water was that expensive, good thing i dont buy that shit.

yes, sir. you are correct. i was generalizing, but relative to other nations we are on average much more lazy, ignorant, and dont consider consequences.

why not? tap water is free at my apt. and when I was using eh maybe 10 gallons/day it was still only $22/month for water.

and if water had to be distilled well then go out and buy a RO unit for $80 and make ur own 0 PPM distilled water. the RO can produce 110 gallons per day, and the filters are good for 3 years and 5 years on the other 2 filters.. and thats a small RO unit, you can get whole house units that produce 1000's of gallons per day.

so all in all hell yeah I wish cars ran off water. even though that would probably drive water prices up and start pissing people off hah.

whomever is saying its good because it will get people off there fat lazy asses is a fucking ashsole, some people need cars to get to work and dont make much money so alot of there money is going to gas when they can instead be feeding there family healthy food .Cheap food is shitty food. maybe it doesnt affect you but it does to some people with low incomes so fuck you. Stupid asshole

yeah , so the people who live in my town have to walk to sacto or something thats 20 miles away huh. reality dude

take a plane?

I'm not actually serious about that, I realize that people do need to have cars for work, but there are a lot of people who use cars for shit theat they don't need to.

high gas prices are good for the environment though. people won't drive as much as they normally would. but isn't there public transportation in the states like buses and subways and stuff? if 40 people take the bus for work instead of driving 40 SUVs it would be good for personal economy and the environment

most of the people who post on this site are still under the financial care of their parents. When you have to pay for all of your own bills and expenses you'll see expensive life is. Childish responses like "I'm glad gas is expensive, more people can just walk" are just dumb. Not too many people live within walking distance of work. And once you have to pay for your own shit you'll realize how important work is. Just because you have no responsibilities and don't really have anywhere to go besides the closest school doesn't mean you represent the majority of people.

Yeah big companies like Exxon can make gas as expensive as they want... before all the corporations, they would keep gas the same price and the gas station would just receive a lesser profit.

screw that, corporate america.

one of the guys from Exxon or Mobil just retired with a nice little 300 million dollar bonus.

he wanted me o transmit the message to you guys

"Thanks sukaaaaZ"

I wouldn't concider myself lazy, but I certainly couldn't walk or bike to work and school where I live. I'd spend half my day getting from point A to point B to point C and back. I do however bike frequenlty on the weekends, when I don't have anywhere to go.

it's very ignorant to say "just walk or ride a bike you lazy ass". sure, that's a great option if you live a mile away from your job as a tech in a ski shop where the temp. is always a cool 60 degrees and it never rains. well that can't happen. what happens when it's 90 degrees outside? what happens when it's pouring rain? what happens when you're not a ski tech and need to be presentable for work or school? you can't very well be a sweaty wet mess from riding a bike there now can you?
