Gapers going off the lips to rails

this is just the most annoying thing. Guy cut me off today coming into a rail and then yelled at me cause he got messed up and didn't get "big air." If you can't hit the rail, stay away from it
 
I. It was a ski instructor, who was coming in super fast, and ran into me when I was heading into a down flat down box, he hit me so hard that my binding blew off, and then got upset at me. I was pissed, and my brother almost punched him in the face.

Super oldschool type of skier that hasn't been around the freeskiing scene long enough to know snaking if dangerous. I was more pissed about my binding than him hitting me, and the fact that there was a large piece of my topsheet missing.

Some people are just ignorant and don't know how to follow the park safety rules, that should be/are at the top of the park. It annoys me to a degree, but it's also just very dangerous.
 
sort of. At the beginning of the season i had to fix the jump for a rail because the the jump was dug out in so many places, right when i was hiking up to hit it some kid carved really hard of of it practically ruining it. It wasn't enough to mess me up or anything but i was just kind of pissed off that someone would do that.
 
i side jump rails all the time. if i'm going through the park and can't see the whole rail down, i want to know what it looks like before i hit it, so i'll side jump it for shits and gigs.
 
I wish I had filmed this last night...there were like 3 guys who would straight bomb into the lips of these boxes over and over...like seriously at that point just hit the fuckin box
 
i do that too but do you snake people? that's the part that really grinds my gears and rustles my jimmies.
 
Happened a few days ago. This 10 year old stoped next to a jump and started to walk in circles on the knuckle. He did this for a solid minute, then decided to do it all over again on the next jump. I tried yelling at him but he didn´t seem to react. A friend of mine decided to spray some snow on the kid since he wasn´t listening to us. He proceeds to do this and continues to the lift. Apparently the father of the kid saw the whole thing and rushed right into my friend and pushed him in the chest. He then threatened to push him infront of a car while yelling "YOU DON`T SPRAY SNOW ON MY SON!" That´s when I got down to them and the dad grabs his kid and goes away. It was such a weird experience haha
 
ski instructors are always bringing their groups into the park, and they go one at a time off the side of the rails. I have to wait there for them to all finish before I can go. Dafuq
 
I dont like to do rails so when my buddies ski park I either avoid them all together or gap all the way over the rail, guess I'm a gaper...
 
That makes you more of a jackass than the guy.

Unless its really warm out people going off the side of a lip really doesnt do to much as long as your park crew has its shit together and does rake runs every once in a while.

This stuff used to bother me, but I have got used to it. As long as they don't snake me I dont really care.
 
I occasionally do that in the beginning of the season when the ONLY jumps on the mountain are the lips before a rail. But I still grind it like 50% of the time.
 
I think it's worse for jumps cuz u can never tell if the gaper is gonna hit the jump or not. They turn and will literally hit the kicker with less speed then is required to get to the top.
 
I guess i can't really justify what i did besides for i just rebuilt it because the park crew never rakes the jumps throughout the day. It still doesn't give me a reason as i look back on it; i was just really pissed off in the moment.
 
The thing is, 99% of the time, the kids that do that come out of no where. I don't think I've ever witnessed someone call their drop, and proceed to hit the side of the jump lol
 
In Avila's park in Qc .... 65% of all these kids have a brand new jacket/skis they wait in line for the rails .. they go and they either hit the kicker or just go by .. i mean why the fuck you in tha park if you gonna skip alll the feature and just be in the way..
 
at my resort the rails are so rarely hit that there are gaper bombholes on the sides of rails from them goin off the the lip... it sucks
 
When some one does that I like to give them a stern talking to in which I say park rules including using the features correctly and calling your drop.... Let's help the people to improve the park rather than piss em off
 
ahahhaa...i have noticed that on the sides of the rails it is all ice, yet the actual landing is pristine
 
Yes. Because I want to end up with charges on my hands, that makes sense. Did I say that I acted tough, did I sound like I was acting tough in my post? No. What a fucking burnout you are, a keyboard warrior, nothing more. Stept off..
 
just incase you havent heard yet,... the east coast barely ever has pow days. so were all in parks with gapers ruining the fun... but if you want to send some powder our way then please do it.
