Gaper question, easier to spin then straight?

This is probably a ultimate gaper question, but at high / higher levels of skiing is it actually easier for you guys to spin then throw a straight air?

Just asking because when I see a high level skier in films throw a straight air usually they go a bit wonky in it yet when they spin they look smooth as ever.

I don't mean like a double or something rediculous but are sometimes like 360's easier for skiers then just straight airing?

When someone is spinning the thought of "HOLY MOTHER OF ALL THAT IS SHITSFRIKEN I AM 50 FEET IN THE AIR" doesn't go through their head quite as much.

When you are straight you have to minimize movement. When you te spinning you are setting up a controlled movement that you can adjust (For example on a 360 you can open up or close to get the necessary rotation). Once you start moving while straight airing you won't be able to move back as easy (why jerrys land on their back, they didnt move to start so they cant fix it. People who backflip are controlling that movement by doing it on purpose.)

I usually just close my eyes

I wouldn't say it's easier to spin then straight air. But, I would say that for me, flipping a big jump is easier/less scary than spinning it.
