I'm talking landings lookin like they came straight out of 08, afterbanging like never before, throwin violent hand gestures at the camera, blaring 90s underground hip hop. This thread is ment to showcase skiing in its thuggest state.

I dropped hammers this season. Peep all the afterbang in my edit.

Double post, that's your icon I had no idea it was Henrik

I always thought that was one of the most classic/thug intros of all time. I mean, if his gear was any bigger, he would be dragging it down the hill behind him.

so happy to see this, really need to bring back the heavy head and after bang/landing style that skiers had back then. i think theres too much "skinny jean swag" and indie kind of skiers. but thats just my opinion

This thread is so Newschoolers.

Nowhere else can you find a congregation of unbelievably delusional posers with the average age of 14 years old.

Get a fucking grip, skiing is not all about jon Brogan and Henrik Harlaut....Think outside your terrain park bubble and focus on being an actual skier.

Fuckin idiots.

Stopped into NS for the first time in weeks and immediately regretted it/remembered why I walked away from it after winter when it was barely entertaining.

Skiing:the action of travelling over snow on skis, especially as a sport or recreation. Competitive skiing falls into two categories: Nordic (cross-country racing and jumping) and Alpine (downhill or straight racing, and slalom racing round a series of markers).

Freeskiing:Freeskiing, or Newschool skiing is a specific type of skiing. It is a subset of Freestyle skiing, although many participants view it as a separate sport and do not refer to it as freestyle. The sport does not require participants to compete, but there are competitive events available at every level of the sport.

Typical big mountain/touring comment. If people find dressing in larger clothing then that is their choice and has no effect on you. If you wish to wear proper clothing, tour for 3 hours then ski one run, that has no effect on park rats.

Park skiing is quickly becoming one of the most profitable sectors of skiing. With the younger generations switching from snowboarding to skiing due to people like Henrik and the twin tip. Your comment is just so unnecessary, it's a style and people find it fun and enjoyable.

Get your head out of your ass and realise that there are other forms of skiing rather than the traditional forms of alpine. Do you think Shane McConkey or CR Johnson would of cared about park skiing not being real skiing? No they fucking killed it at both.

Both Shane and CR dedicated (at least) the last 5 years of their lives to skiing the big mountain, throwing tricks in the big mountain realm, and dropping into the park once in a very long while to throw a couple of tricks just for shits and giggles.. You're telling me that CR and Shane were fans of the "thug life park rat" aspect of things when they woke up and realized where they wanted to take the sport?

There's plenty of pro's out there who would love to voice the things that I'm saying right now, I just have the balls to put it out there. Jon Brogan looked like a complete jackass with his douchebag "afterbang" landings, Henrik Harlaut is an embarrassment to the sport on a global scale due to his pant-dropping, white rastafari antics, and gang signs/tall tees were founded by a portion of the African American culture quite some time ago...Park skiers adopting these trends is anything but "original" and just looks completely absurd.

At the end of the day, I'm probably arguing with a high schooler, so I'm heading to bed. NS, see you in a few more weeks when I check in on the NStupidity Movement.

CR was heavily into Rastafarian music. If anything CR introduced Tanner into that way of life and music. So you can't say Henriks rasta antics are any different to CR's. I find it amusing that you condescend anyone or anything out of traditional skiing. Yes, park rats are generally laughed at by the general public and most elders would be shocked by Henrik. However Henrik has also influenced the sport into competing at an olympic level while keep the core roots of the sport at heart.

If you are so worried about what kids are doing on the mountain then who is more of a dick? The adult who judges kids based on outerwear and style or the little kids who act ganster because they enjoy it?

Look at any action sport, there are styles and eras of said style.

Please worry about yourself and your own skiing ability. You're like a race coach whos' ego is so far up their ass that they are impuissant to any other factors of skiing.

Not an "adult ski racing coach" type of person. And I'll be the first to admit that I love park skiing and rocking baggy clothes... All I'm saying is that I think that it gets a little absurd when it's taken to such an extreme. It just looks dumb.
