ps i totally agree that McChrystal was waaayyy out of line and thank you to the person who pointed out it is illegal to do so under The Code.
anyway, not saying war is easy or being CIC has a straightforward approach, or COIN is a good strategy, but its just funny to see the different reaction Obama gets for fucking up a war and a national crisis, compared to a comparable Bush presidency.
 
lol. Gen David Patreus is commander of CentComm aka the highest ranking Army officer, or arguably military officer, if you view that as being more important than chairman of the joint chiefs of staff adm mike mcmullens job. He won iraq. (PS no one gives Bush enough credit). Enough said.
 
well i didn't know he put in petraeus. lets see what he does and how quickly he gets up to speed. considering the summer is the most active time for the taliban.

If your gonna make a claim like that, you should be prepared to back it up.

Just out of curiosity what has Obama done involving the Oil Spill that you think he shouldn't have? What has he not done that he should of?

How is Afghanistan 2010 worse then Iraq 2006? How has Obama fucked Afghanistan more in his first term, then Bush fucked Iraq in his first term?
 
I really don't understand where anyone can say that Obama is fucking up the gulf spill. He was communicating with them from day 1, he stopped deep water off shore drilling (A stupid thing to do, but still something), and he set up a 20 BILLION DOLLAR fund to clean up the spill.

Its a mile down, the government doesnt have anything that can help with that. Bobby Jindal is a fucking douche bag.
 
This is just funny to read. Pretty much shows how much of an armchair quarterback you are. You included some qualifications which don't help, and left out some that would have made your argument stronger.

Also you argument is:

Well aren't you just the most qualified expert on how to use SOF to effectively eliminate a government protected organization in a hostile country.

You should write a book. You could call it "Effective Use of Force Delta Special Ranger SEALs (FDSRS) in an Anti-Terror Capacity" It would be a great way for you to communicate with ju-whatshisface, on important ways to win the conflict in Afghanistan. Be sure to reference the SOF missions you have studied and know about.

 
Like you, I hardly think I am qualified to make good strategic and operational decisions for obtaining long-term goals, or discuss special operation warfare. Unlike you however, I acknowledge my lack of knowledge and experience in these fields, and thus keep my irrelevant opinions to myself, which are however different from yours.
 
Thing though is according to the chain of command this is almost like a demotion for Petraeus.
