FX1 question for those of you who are beasts

Ok, i know im retarded. lets just get that out of the way. but ive been filming w/ my fx1 for some time now and its been great. learned a ton of stuff on it. one thing though that i have always had trouble with though is uploading in hdv. whenever i plug in my camera without the iLink HDV->DV conversion on my comp. wont recognize my camera. Is my computer being dumb or what the heck. Its a PC to say the least and ive been using sany vegas movie studio 8 if that has anything to do with it.

I have the same problem with final cut pro with my fx1. I just upload in imovie and then drag the clips into final cut. I have never been able to upload hd footage into final cut.
 
i have been using premier, and was having the same problem with hd footage as well, what i did was open an hd workflow and then capture the footage in the workflow(not sure if thats what you would call it?). that seemed to do the trick for me. i think fcp works similar to premier i am not sure about vegas though
 
Yeah, I guess so, since it works on imovie, haven't tried on anyone elses computer or another program
