Future Trends in Skiing

So skiing has gone through some interesting times, 5 years ago, hippy killers were the coolest thing since sliced bread, and bright ass tall tees rocked the slopes, now the B&E movement has every lil thug saggin his pants around the knees. What kind of shit will we be rocking in the next 5 years? What kind of tricks will we be throwing?

Were at a point in our sport where the jump and urban game are getting fucking insane. Clayton's The Creep and Leigh Powis' urban segments are pushing skiing past the limits I ever imagined. Where will progression take freestyle skiing?

Everyones gonna be doing butt stuff and claiming that they got the smallest dick and the biggest nuts on the mountain.

i know he gets a lot of hate on here, but goepper's style is going to start to be trendy. tees that end above the belly button and long & gangly leg steeze is going to takeover.

Is that not already a thing? I like how skinny and baggy are both considered trendy. It gives a little more room for creativity rather than just the length of your layered tall tees

Just watch snowboarding. We'll be doing exactly what they're doing right now approximately 3 years from now.

This. I can definitely see a tall t backlash. Short t's and maybe even wife beaters are going to be the new trend:

It will be whatever it is and its all just opinion but I imagine its going to go full circle. Right now we are at the 1970'/80's of freeskiing and with the olympics at hand it will be just like ariels, acro, and moguls but slopestyle, halfpipe, big air... people will get bored with it and then maybe snowboarding will be super cool again. Who knows?

Definitely more fitted clothing. I'd definitely like to see what the trends will be in three years and look back on what it is now

button down Hawaiian shirts. pols make a comeback?

skittles may return?

butters

weird stuff most likely. stuff that is dumb to 50% of NS and the others will follow

Shit. It looks like shorts are going to be trendy but my guess is only the most bad ass skiers are going to rock it.

riding shit like a skate park, IE cruising picking creative lines/ways of hitting features as apposed to standard spin on's and spin off's, trying to get that same flow going as carving up a skate park.

Fashion tends to follow a 20 year pattern where it changes significantly and often repeats after a trend has been around for that long. THis is for everyday fashion though. I think that skiing might have reached a point where it definitely will not repeat and that seems like it will stick around for a while. I know that I like the "new" b&e style and I will be reppin it until I stop skiing. I hope to god it doesn't get all skinny and hesh though, except on spring gaper days.

I'm on it.

im looking for some denim overalls to cutoff too, i think that's a good direction for skiing to go, the more exposed skin the better.

I expect more urban styled parks, with lots of ways to go about all the different lines. Probably what was considered as cool 3 years ago will also make a comeback in a few years I'm guessing

Yes!!!!!!!! And helmets are so played. I get to bust out all of my old ski headbands! CHEAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

for some reason i feel like as far as outerwear goes, it wont be much different in five years. five years just doesnt seem like that long of a time to me

everybody should pretty much just pick up chain smoking camel lights, steal your girlfriends jeans, buy a really uncomfortable motorcycle, quit snowboarding in actual mountains, and move to LA if they want to get ahead of the curve.

Based on the previous progression of skiing it will shape into something similar to the skate industry. Just wish all freeski companies would stop delaying and jump the industry to skate standards and save us all a couple years of slow trasformation.

My guess would be in the direction of this edit

I think (and hope) that we will see more rail creativity and less of the standard spin on, switch up, spin off. It would be sick to see more guys who could spin on, spin off, and switchup, along with a lot more variety like presses, blunts, 1 foots, ski slides, maybe some wizard tricks, etc.

Hate to sound like a hipster, But I come from a snowboard dominated mountain so a few of us skiers have started just rocking whatever they are rocking. Its boiled down to slim fit pants, mildly tall slim hoodies. With a lot of unique grabs and flow through the park.

Not saying we are the future of style by any means, but ride with boarders everyday and watch your style slowly change into what a boarders mind would be on skis
