I dont know the deal with me sharing this as its not my work and i dont have their permission etc, but whatever. My dad works for EA.... wait thats not right.

My dad teaches architecture in the glasgow school of art and he was telling me about one of his students who, for a project, designed a building with a big air kicker on the top of a disused piece of bridge supports on the river in the centre of glasgow. i dont know if its meant to be a dry slope or man made snow, but it looks sick so i thought it would share. its also got another slope so you can work on rail game at the same time. heres the drawing and the model of the building

as freeskiing becomes more popular this sort of thing could be viable and awesome esp for places like the UK where the biggest kicker is a 20/25ft dryslope kicker.

oh yeah forgot to say the building its on is the

Derek Zoolander Center For Children Who Can't Read Good And Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too

And where about in the UK is said kicker situated? Bearsden?

Model looks good. Would be very useful if it were to be given the go ahead.

Yeah its bearsden. It's only a third year uni project so its not something thats going to be built, but there is hope for his future career.

yeah, and the landing is like 65 degrees at one point..
and yes, the concept would be so sick but I'm not sure how much making buildings designed for skiing is gonna catch on.

Im not sure but, the guy who designed it isnt acctually into freeskiing but is a racer so doesnt really know what makes a decent jump but realised he was gonna get a crap grade if he just stuck a regular ski slope on a building. To the comment above that the building its on includes a cafe/bar thing, changing etc and ski shop so its like stacking a bunch of ski related stuff onto a disused piece of land to make an entertainment centre as the kind of brief was to design an entertainment centre of their chosing on one of the sites picked

Cool facility. Not sure I'd take the jump to the sweet spot, but I'm always down to hit rails in a river.

this would be awesome but if you had the money to build this would you not just live in a pimped out lodge out in the backcountry?

First off I don't have time to read the whole thing so I'm sorry if you already covered anything. What are the advantages of building it on this bridge?

Would it be considered safe considering how old these bridge supports are?

Would it really be considered safe? It's essentially a new bridge and they need to be crazy safe, I just don't see the advantages of this, nice idea yeah.

easy there, frank lloyd wright. its a student project. you think they were given no parameters at all?

and thanks for sharing OP. pretty cool stuff

His post is quite obviously sarcasm, so obvious that it's hard to believe you can't see that. Therefore it's actually harder to tell whether you're trolling or not, but unfortunately for you, you now appear not to be, and are therefore incredibly stupid.

it made absolute sense , the fact that he posted this to the guy who quoted zoolander was more stupid than his quote

You never know. The IQ of the average Newschooler isn't exactly the best. The fact that you would fail to see the possibility of him being an idiot makes you "incredibly stupid."

Do you know who you are talking to? Also considering you are new here how would you know what the "The IQ of the average Newschooler"

This has nothing to do with IQ. The fact that it's a direct quote from a film involving a very similar scenario means that there is literally nothing else his post can be but sarcasm. To be fair it's not even sarcasm, it's referencing a film in the hopes to get some laughs, and succeeding.

Also, in hindsight, if you haven't seen the film, then i'll cut you some slack. But still, come on dude.

Also, why the fuck am I wasting my time with this? I must be even more bored than usual.

Hey n00b he says it in his post, it is called Zoolander, and is very funny. So much for you having a higher IQ than the rest of NS...
