Fur hoods

still cool?

and question two...who notices the non skiers of our nation, and alot of girls, picking up on this style. i used to have to go to 10th street to see any fur off the slopes. now its like at dairy queen off of main and in my own home with my sister.

i have an orage jacobs.

I wear the fur on my H/H Cam jacket, great jacket as well, I ditch the fur and hood when I ski because I think it will get in the way cause I wear a helmet.

I'll start skiing while holding a little dressed up dog before I wear a coat with a fur hood. I guess I'm in the minority by not emulating the way old rich women look.

if to comes on my jacket... not sure i'd go as far as getting it put on my jacket custom, but I guess it's cool to have somethin one of a kind too.

As far as skiing goes, fur has become played out. I'm not a big fashion fan to begin with, but that's just the way it is. As far as the general public, it's the hot new thing. It's like the new abercrombie at my school, all the chicks are doing it, and I'm like "that shit's played out." Crocheted hats are just starting to hit public now too. I guess we skiers are just to progressive for fashions now too, but it's cool, cause now I'm a trend setter.

(hint of sarcasm for you "slower" folks)

I still think fur hoods are fly...But like people have been saying, alot of non skiing or snowboarding people have picked up on it...im assumming it will die out almost like one pieces maybe?

Picked up on it? You do realize that it didnt originate in skiing right? Skiing picked up on it from normal fashion.

Speaking from a function over fashion angle, on a freezing dry day on the east coast (we have alot of those) it's much nicer to have your jacket zipped all the way and ur hood up with fur around the sides of your face than the cold edges of a nylon goretex hood. The fur fills the little cracks between your goggles and hood and face and keeps the wind out better than just a normal hood. And itlooks gangster.

problem is people dont realize that is was skiers first, not the girls who were wearing the fur hoods first

maybe the girls will get goggle tans next?? id be down with that haha. but fur is still dope, although it is kinda lame when people steal the ski styles

fur hoods are for girls, I mean whenever I see Jon Olssen ski, I laugh. He's good, but he looks like a girl with his gay fur hood. I agree that fur hoods are for girls and old rich women.

PLEASE, lets not even begin to think that skiing re-started that fashion. From what I've seen girls in England have been all over that shit 4-5 years ago, same goes to girls in the States. For that matter, I don't think any good fashion has been restarted or invented from skiing in recent times.

i definently didnt say it came from skiing. i was just noticing that ive seen alot more fur hoods than before this year. guys/girls that arent skiers. there is an abundance of fur hoods, as opposed to not as many.

Well the way you worded it, that's what it sounded like. Like the non-skiiers were picking it up from skiing.

good point. but yeah obviously not. the only thing ive seen that MAY have come from skiers is crocheted hats, which someone mentioned seeing on non skiers. ive never seen them off of the mountain. earflap style. homemade. i was more wondering if people believed fur hoods were "played" or still have some appeal
