Fun things do do in Vermont/Maine during the summer?

Hey, i'm going camping with my gf in a week in Vermont and Maine for 3 days so I am basically asking for advise for things to do and places to go. I'm pretty much open to any ideas.

in maine you can go fishing pretty much anywhere, and there are a lot of mountains to hike/climb
