Full Tilts

your shoe size really isn't reliable to find boot size i wear a 10.5 or 11 street shoe and 27.5 ft hotdoggers so you really need to try them on. If you had to order online i would get like a 28.5 and a 29 and return the one that doesn't fit as well. or try on a different boot with a similar last and see what size you need for that boot if trying ft's isn't an option.

PEOPLE!! not everyone skis PC and mammoth who have huge ass jumps!!! at least for me the biggest jumps around are 40-50ISH ft... we just need a good boot. most people wont heat mold them. most people wont need them punched w/e so if we find a good deal on line we are 100% going to pay the discounted price over the ski shop 30% mark up...and for most people its a few hour drive for a ski shop with FT's or SPKS etc...dont always say a boot fitter. i think people know that. if they all listened to it there wouldnt be a ton of threads about it. just answer the question. give them the GENERAL answer they are asking for...SHITTTTT

Your totally right man

But in the unlikely scenario that you want a boot that actually fits your foot and does not hurt, go to a store or bootfitter. You don't even need to buy the boot at the store if you know its cheaper online, Just try it on in the store to make sure it fits good and buy it cheaper online.

You're an idiot. Support your local shops. OP's question can only be answered by a certified bootfitter. Period. Then go online if you want. But then don't come crying back to us when all of your favorite local shops start closing due to lack of support. That means goodbye, Sports Creel, goodbye Alpine Haus, goodbye Wintersport. And that's only the shops within five miles from my house. Think of all the shops nationwide that need your business to stay alive more than ever. Going online is only going to help you--not your favorite industry. Or perhaps it isn't your favorite industry, because you seem to not care about it at all.

Don't go into a shop and waste a boot-fitter's time. If a fitter spends the time and fits you correctly, support that shop; don't be a joey and get the boot online because you are cheap. The shop will give you a deal on the fitting (usually some kind of fit guarantee where they will take care of fit issues down the road). If you don't want to pay shop pricing (which is not a 30% markup by the way), fine- just don't go to a shop at all then. Part of what you are paying for is the service to help you find the correct fit.

I've got no problem with people trying on boots to get an idea of the fit and leaving- but return to the shop when you have the money. Sometimes, you live in the middle of nowhere and you can only get boots online, I get that too. But don't go into a reputable shop, have a legit fitter spend good time on you to find you the right boot, only then to not support the very shop that tried to take care of you. Support your local shops.

^THIS! My local shop gave me a deal on my boot because they had seen me alot and knew i was a young local who was always out skiing. About half way through the year I didnt enjoy the boots as i had before so i went in and the shop, heat molded my boots and gave me booster straps almost free of charge(they only had world cup left so i just cut out the middle elastic ).

If you buy one thing from local shop make it the boots. I am all about deals, but when you need something blown out or a buckle replaced on the spot...
