Full Tilt Tongue sizing up

Does anyone have experience throwing a XL tongue on a 26.5 FT boot? When I originally ordered the tongue replacement, the sizing indicated I need a medium tongue. However, I came across some stuff on the internet that said Seth Morrison recommends the next size up because it has a taller shin and more wrap around. EVO did not have a L so I ordered an XL to see if it would work but I'm worried it might be to big. What do the steeze lords say about this. Also, if anyone has a 10-flex tongue for sale, I am very interested. I only went from a 6 to an 8 because stock is limited.

what color u need? I also have 26.5 that are basically scrap boots since the buckles are garbage and they are old mine are green but you might be able to die them

color is irrelevant, I am handy with a spray can. how old are we talking though?

2012 but I just found out they are #4 so I think its 70 flex

I have bought a lot of FT tongues over the years and always bought the recommended size, but I had never heard of this. In theory it seems it could make sense, but I have 0 irl experience doing so. I may try it with my pair. I do have a brand new pair of white 8 flex tongues in a medium if anyone needs also

I skied with a larger size tongue for years. I would get a #10 27.5 tongue to fit a 26.5 boot, this was before they made the 12 flex. It does make it stiffer and it sits higher on the boot. I have had to get longer cables before if the stock ones didn't fit the larger tongue
