Full Tilt tightness

I got a new pair of drop kicks at the start of last season. They have over 100 days for sure. The boot is in decent condition but the liners are most likely packed out. I bought the claims a few weeks ago and after skiing in the I noticed that they are much tighter to my feet than my drop kicks. Like I only need to have the buckle a few clicks in while on my drop kicks they are maxed out and still not even close to that tight. I also have the power strap at tight as I can get it. I noticed that I actually ski jumps better in the claims. I land tricks better than with the drop kicks. Is there anyway to get the drop kicks buckles tighter. I assume it is a combo of the liners packing out and the cables streching but is their anything I can do? Like has anyone cut the cables or something like that?

the drop kick uses the FTO shell (original) while the Claim uses the FTE shell (evolution), the toe box is roomier in the FTE shell. other than that I haven't noticed a huge difference between the shells although I haven't spent much time in the FTO shell.

That would mean I would have more room in the claims not less right? They are also the same width in the rest of the boot. 99. I honestly can't tell a difference between the shells or comfort, just that the claims stay tight where as the drop kicks don't. They drop kicks used too a long time ago though.

yeah ur drop kicks were probably just packed out asf, any liner will be that way after 100 days. wont give you good hold anywhere around ur foot at that point

Pretty sure the claim uses the same shell as the FT first chairs, which is the soul shell, and it fits differently than the FT original shell. You can also swap cables, or always tighten/loosen the top cable by hooking it in the shell differently. At 100 days I’d bet those liners are packed tf out as well.

Just get ZipFits...

Just get shorter cables

All you’re doing by adding more buckle tension is distorting the plastic from its natural shape. Sure by day 100 the fit will degrade but you should never have to max the buckles out. The boot should secure your foot by being the right volume and shape.

Take the liner out and slide your toe to the front of the boot so it’s barely making contact. More than 3/4” of space behind your heel would indicate the boot is too big.

The boot isn't too big. My claims are the same size and they fit perfectly. I also got fitted for that size. I don't have to have them maxed out but they easy can be on the top buckle when I crank the power strap.

Gotcha. You could always experiment with adding EVA foam to the liners or installing shims on the boot board to tune the fit as needed.

What yhu think of the claims overall, I may have to buy my final pair of FTs

I love them. They boot its self feels great to ski in. I always wanted a pair of Full Tilts in that color way and they finally did it.

Did you have shin bang with your drop kicks and it’s improved? I get hella shin bang with my dropkicks but buying the last pair of FTs is tempting even if they still give me shin bang

I don't really get shin bang but the claims are a bit better for that because of the booster strap. You can get them tighter so that helps if you land backseat or something in my opinion.

Is the sizing about the same as the drop kicks?

Did u size down? Also where did you buy them I’ve seen a few different sites

No I got the same size. My drop kicks were molded to my feet so to toe box got a bit wider so they feel similar now. But a touch different right out of the box. I bought they from Slopestyle a few weeks ago.

It’s packed out liners. And stretched cables.

watch this:

take the new liners from the claims and out them in the DK. Voila, new boots.

I usually take old liners and drop them in new boots to break the new boots in.

FT sells shorter cables, pick them up, maybe stiffer tongues and new liners and heel and toes and those are brand new boots.

I also used to get alot of shinbang on my drop kicks. At least for me it helps to wear two pairs of socks and gel pads. Idk whats wrong with the drop kicks, I hear many people complaining about shinbang on them

Are there any left? I know they went up on FTs website and were gone almost immediately, I’d be surprised if there are any left anywhere
