Full Tilt tight

Hey dudes, I just got some new full tilts, and i've got two questions:

(I got these for really chaep, brand new, at a store that doesnt know a thing about ski boots, so odnt bitch me out for not figuring this out before i bought them)

1. My heeel can move up and down a tiny bit when all my buckles are nice and tight. When i get these heat molded, will my heel stay put?

2. The bottom two buckles are 3 notches from being as tight as possible, and when i have the power strap on nice and tight, the top buckle isint close to being tight at all (even when its set at the tightest position). This may be due to me having skinny calfs. Is there anything i can do to make the top buckle tigher?

Thanks.

Just a quick reply, so don't flame me if i'm wrong.
1. Possibly
2. i dont remember, but you might be able to move the buckle. Might depend on the model.

well i sorta have the same problem as you.

1. try not to worry about your heal moving up and down if its only a little, because when youre skiing, the motion youre most likely using to see if your heal comes out isnt a motion you use for skiing. at least this is what my boot fitter told me.

2. booster straps can help with the tightness of getting the top of your boot to wrap around your foot better. i have the same problem, so im just going to wait til i get to ski to see if i need them.

Is it not a big deal when the top buckle isn't very tight?

Is there a possibility that the power strap can make up for it?

Heat molding should fix both, make sure you go to a shop that knows what they're doing.

Power strap will help make it tight up top, and you can always get shorter cables (or if you don't want to spend the money and are willing to risk it you can shorten them on you're own with wire cutter and wire stripers).

you defenetly want the top of your boots to be tight aggainst your shins and around your calfs.. otherwise hello shinBANG

I'm kind of having the same problems, except without the first part. Like people said before, you can adjust the straps to be slightly tighter and looser, look at the user manual. After I did this my shin was pretty snug so if you can do the same you should eliminate the shinbang. Only other problem I had was mine were a bit tight around the middle of my foot, does anyone know if heatmolding will fix that? Otherwise I'm just gonna return mine and get some other kind of boot. Sorry for the minor threadjack..

Is there any maunual online for how to adjust the cables? (not the buckles)

and one more thing... does active bootboard vs rigid bootboard make THAT much of a difference?

i know there are inserts that can be made for the heel cup to fit tighter. my buddy has them on his boots cause he had the same problem. problem 2-get a booster strap. its gonna save your life

well i have the bumble bees from like 2007 and you can shorten the cables by taking the liner out and then pulling the plastic layers apart right where the cable gos into the boots and it has like 3 ridges to put the cable on.

just curious, how does age play a role in how a boot fits or if its too big? im not trying to call you out or anything, is it the fact that if hes young he'll still grow in to them?

and i got the perfect size and mine dont wrap around my tiny shins

Yea man i'm 15

Im like 6 feet tall and weigh 145 pounds, and have super skinny calfs. I am sure this is why the boot is fitting weird. I just called my local shop and the guys are suuper good there, and theyre gonna work on my boots to get them to fit nice and snug around the calf area. Thanks for all the advice, you guys were lotsa help. +K

1. wrong. standing in place and flexing the boot forward is the exact motion you use when your skiing, and if you heel is moving when you do that, they they are a little loose.

2. booster straps will pull the tung against your shin, it will not make the bucklers tighter, and they should be tighter because the actual shell is what supports your foot

i have found the exact opposite of this. if you can move your heal around in any way, you will be able to move it around on the hill when skiing

There is this liquidation store in mississauga/cawthra. It is on cawthra roard, just south of dundas. Its across cawthra street from a tim hortons, and its in like a plaza type thing.

I got my full tilts there for 100 bucks, but it was kindaa lucky find. They have tons of boots there at the moment, but few full tilts.

Check it out if ur in the area.

They said that they will be brining out more full tilts soon.

1. heat molding should fix all your problems fit wise.

2. you can shorten then cable.... pull out the liner and you can see three deifferent setting for cable length and run it in the shortest!

Oh shit, i forgot about that part!! Yeah, you might not have to order shorter cables until you've tried the other settings for the original ones.
